Great video. Not only HD, but answers alot of outstanding mw2 questions at once.

How do you drop a riot shield though? Can't you only just swap 1 weapon for another?

The answer to your first question is in your second question.

Yeah, in the video you can see the second rifle at his feet which he switches for the shield.

MW2 considers the riot shield a primary weapon.

you know... that does make me wonder if an EMP could stop a real tactical nuke.

Like, for real. Adam, Jamie? You guys up to it?

If you are refering to the single player campaign where the nuke is launched from the silo, I believe there was no EMP. I thought the nuke was deliberately aimed above Washington (in space) and it detonated. The EMP was the result of the nuke going off.

No, a real tactical nuke is shielded against EMP, so if someone did set off an airburst, the ground weapons would be unaffected.

EMPs can have any range of strength. There is no amount of shielding that can block all the power of an EMP. The intent is to shield it from the most likely levels. Modern EMP research though can create electro-mag radiation far stronger than what they were designed for.

The real question is, would the nuke detonate in RL from an EMP, or just fall to the ground like a rock?

That's exactly the question. If a good EMP can knock out and disable a real nuke, preventing it from actually detonating, than that could be a fantastic defense system against missiles.

Even if newer missiles were shielded better, it would still render the older ones useless if their detonators were electronically triggered.

I think I'm just reading too much into this. Still would be an awesome episode of mythbusters.

I actually saw a spraying fire hydrant and was curious so I stood on top of it and when it burst, it gave a kill to someone on the other team.

I knew about the mattresses and the destroyable air-drop choppers, but the other ones were pretty interesting. I'm going to have to to try the ricocheting throwing knives trick sometime. But one thing to note - a stuck Semtex on a riot shield is not a guaranteed kill even without it being dropped - I've found that you need to either put a few bullets into the shield beforehand or do some direct damage to the holder, and then a stick on the shield will bring them down. Frankly, I feel that a stick on even a brand-new shield should at the very least destroy the shield, leaving the owner shield less but alive, but if IW finds the current way is balanced, whatever...

The only way you won't be killed if an enemy sticks Semtex to your Riot Shield is if you have the Blast Shield equipment on (assuming, of course, that you don't drop the shield like they show in the video).

Ive done the fire hydrant kill i knew about the afghan matress and i know for A FACT that ive stopped a care package killing me with a riot shield (it was my own but still) it just slid off like it does when it clips the corner of something the ones ive yet to work out how to do are bouncing grenade launcher nades and bouncing a throwing knife so it still kills (ive done it but it didnt kill anyone)

So, does the EMP prevent the enemy from Activating the Tactical Nuke?

Yes. All enemy killstreaks are disabled during the EMP effect. They can't call in ANYTHING until it's over. That's what makes the EMP so useful, especially in bomb games.

Also of note: the EMP destroys nearly all active enemy killstreaks (like the harrier, for example).
