I especially liked the scene that has the 3d model composited over a photo of a soccer field.

They could have learned from their mistakes and polished it up nicely. We will have to wait and see.

Would someone explain to me how an absolute messy piece of shit game was released, it failed to garner any good reviews, or any kind of following or fan base, yet it was green-lighted for a sequel? What the hell is wrong with these people?

Because it got 6-8's out of 10. Above average game. I've seen worse get sequels. It wasn't the greatest game out there but it wasn't as bad as you make it out to be.

Yeah my opinion is definitely worse than the consensus, but I'm still surprised.

thought I can't speak for the gameplay, kane and lynch's character design trumps agent 47 in every way.

I Think IO should drop the game and Release a CG Movie they seem to be better at story telling than creating a AAA game title... ON paper K&L 1 sounded great.... WHY WHY must it be so that the game wasn't all that great 60$ worth...
grrrr
anyways... this story looks cool, hope the gameplay drastically improves....

I absolutely loved the ideas behind Kane and Lynch but the execution fell short of what I wanted. Still it made for a solid co-op experience and if certain features are added to the game, better AI, pressing a button to get into cover, and more, than this game would be perfect.

Seeing people comment and say 'it sucked' and 'messy piece of shit' makes me wonder if these people actually played it, or if they're just ripping on it because it became the cool thing to do.
I thought the 1st game was great and I really, really enjoyed it. I don't think the gameplay was nearly as borked as the critics seemed to feel it was. Realllllly looking forward to this game, improving upon the last one should make this game great and hopefully maybe drive some people to give the 1st an honest shot.

First one was very much like the first Army of Two. Both started off good but soon got repetitive and seemed rushed towards the end. I played them both in couch-op and they were entertaining for that.
But both games have a chance to be good sequels if they take their time to fix a lot of issues. I'll wait and see how people feel about these...

Hey troll, what you should have said was:
"[In my opinion] the first one sucked so I'm less inclined to buy the sequel. Perhaps they will fix the faults of the first game and deliver an adequate sequel that will most likely, surpass the original one in terms of gameplay and/or story."

The most interesting thing about this game will be if any other reviewers will be fired over it. Then maybe they'll start their own website which will be better than the one they got fired from! How does Large Incendiary Device sound? Or L.I.D. for short.

Only played the demo of the first one and was thoroughly disgusted by the "last gen movements and graphics" but at the same time, there was something about it. By the time I decided to rent it at Blockbuster, it was no longer even on the shelf, even though it was still a "relevant game" (either someone never returned it or it was sold, I guess).I still want to play it but I guess I will have to go to a diff Blockbuster to rent it unless I can buy it for $5.99 like I pay for my game rentals there.
That being said, I watched this trailer 3 times, yesterday, and LOVED IT! Well done trailer but I need gameplay footage, some demo hands on time and possibly a review to decide if I will pick it up. It's not high on my list of 2010 games, so maybe it will be my sleeper.

Personally, I didn't like the first one. This one, again looks good. But I thought all the trailers for the first looked good as well. Don't know if I'll risk getting burned a second time

looks like i'm the only person here who saw the potential in the first. not by any means a stellar game, but it was entertaining, and if the story and shooting elements were fine tuned it could definitely be a sweet game.
anyways, this trailer is really interesting to me. lynch was the crazy guy from the first one, and the scenes of him in a soccer field seem pretty out of place. i wouldn't be surprised if the first part was hallucinated.....he'd imagined a lot of people shooting at him so he went off the deep end and killed some innocent people (thus the blood on his shirt).

The first game was mediocre, similar to Army of Two in that it was good for a decent coop rental, but not much more. That was until the end of the game, which wasn't rewarding at all and has made me detest that game for making me play through for nothing.
That said, it doesn't keep me from hoping that they do a quality job with the sequel. The characters do have personalities, which is good, even if they are both assholes. I just want a story that isn't garbage.

I agree with 'FreedomPhantom' First game was awesome and I cant wait for this.
Unconventional Video Game characters mid 40s balding psycho paths with no regard. I just hope they tune up the shooting and cover mechanism (auto cover was distracting should be able to slam into cover like GOW). From the trailer looks dark, twisted & visceral I hope they release in Australia but knowing the Goverment they will ban it for being to violent...

I played/loved the first. The only really gripes had were the cheezy dialogue. The controls were fine and shooting your way out of a japanese bank and pulling off heists never got old for me. the cover system worked fine for me. If reviewers cant get their head around a control scheme they knock it, when in fact they just dont got no skill.
Those who think this game is crap without playing it are missing out.
It merits a sequel and Im thrilled at sh**
