The system will supposedly launch with hundreds of comics from Marvel, IDW, Titan, iVerse and 2000AD. Everything that's available should be listed on playstationcomics.com after launch. We're definitely looking forward to taking the service for a test drive with that "free comics" button.

Let's hope not long. No DC means no Dark Horse or Vertigo either =(

Sucks, considering Vertigo has pretty much the only comics worth reading these days.
Fables, holla!

Did I say DC owned Dark Horse? No. But the only really great things that came out of Dark Horse was crossover comics with DC. Which means DC owns rights to those comics worth reading as well. Which means no good Dark Horse comics. I really don't like internet assumptions.

I found out that it will take until next year for Marvel to translate all of the comic book dialogue into Canadian.
"My spider senses are tingling, eh?"
"That Magneto hoser is a real shit-disturber, eh?"
"It's aboot Clobberin' time, eh? Then a coffee and a jam-buster at Timmy's, after we haul arse, eh?"
"I wonder if I quit being Spider-Man, if I could get pogey?"
Oh god, it will take forever, eh?

Does anyone really want to read their comics on a screen that small?

tried it on the freebie codes that were floating out on the net and it works pretty well. i'm all for it, so long as the prices are reasonable.

Cellphones like apples, have a much smaller screen and folks seem quite content using them to browse the web so I'm certain folks will be fine using the PSP to view comics. The comic software pans and zooms automatically from cell to cell and you can override at anytime. In fact it works very well.

WTF why no Canada? We get paper comics same day as the States, most credible comic shops in Canada sell at US prices, there is absolutely no content changes between the two...
I understand things like VidZone, movie downloads etc. as they have completely different rights management, but this is bull.

What's red and white and screwed all over? Canada! At least when it comes to PSN movies and comics. I can't believe Germany gets the comics and Canada is left out. I mean the dialogue balloons must take up 95% of the page. The one word phrase "Argh" translated into German is "Arghnoffensteinschvienhossteinpfefferglobinachduliebermeingott!" I mean, come on! The German translation for "My spider senses are tingling" literally fills a book half the size of the Manhattan phone book. Boo hiss.
For my PS3 and PSP to be fully functional, I have to travel to other countries. That shit ain't right.

Sony should include an e-reader with the PSP just for the heck of it. They are already making a separate reader hardware, why not use some of that programming for PSP to add something to the declining value of the device.
The comic reader is a good start though. Businesses should take advantage of digital media as soon as possible

I got the 16 free comics on my psp and I'm in Canada.
I installed the Sony Media Go app and just set up an American account when prompted before downloading the comic. Assuming you have your psp in usb mode it will download the comics right to your psp. Worked perfect and it asks for your user/pass whenever you log in to the store so once I was done I can use my real Canadian sony account. This pleases me.
