Nice! Firecore is awesome

I disagree. The Firecore Genesis models are made by Chinese Sega licensee AtGames, and unlike earlier plug-and-play Genesis hardware (from Radica and Sega Toys), they do not run on a binary-compatible Genesis-on-a-chip. Instead, their hardware is based around a 32-bit ARM architecture, and they run a Genesis emulator on top of it. This emulator is, as described by a former AtGames consultant who was hired to try to fix various bugs in it, not cycle-accurate, resulting in incompatibility issues. Most notably, the sound is screwy on many titles because writes from the CPU emulator don't arrive at the YM2612 FM synthesizer emulator at the right times. Just listen to the title screen music for Sonic 3 or Sonic & Knuckles as played by the Firecore. Wrong pitches all over the place, so that it sounds like someone playing music on a keyboard but with his hands at the wrong positions.

The concept is nice...I can't say that I have used one of these and if it is as you say then it is a shame.
