A reminder from your friendly neighborhood Joystiq: The Army of Two: The 40th Day demo promised earlier this week is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace. Weighing in at a less-than-diminutive two gigabytes, the demo allows players to try out a part of the first level of the game. And, since Army of Two kind of depends on cooperative play, the demo thankfully offers both offline and online co-op for two players.
The demo may or may not also contain bro hugs. We hope it does.

I'm not sure that it's the online connectivity or the game itself, but the frame rate and gameplay is super sluggish...

EXACTLY my thought after playing the demo with a random partner for awhile. It makes me mad because it's oozing with potential but if the game plays choppy like that consistently, then it's already dead in the water.
How do developers spend months and months playing a game and not go "oh you know what?...maybe we should make the gameplay move a little bit more than 10 frames a second."
If it's NOT the lag (and I'm pretty sure it's not) then the game is ruined already. Gears of War 2 would SUCK if it ran at the framerate that this game does. I've seen it on a number of games. It's amazing that even in this day in age and with project that costs as much as this that they (whoevers job it is at the developer) don't understand that graphics and high res textures are way, way less important to gamers that smooth gameplay.
I'll try it again with a partner that has a mic and doesn't suck but for how choppy and uncomfortable the shooting mechanics and controlls were I'm guessing it's a lost cause.

perfect example of why all the programmers at EA need to go die in a fire.
Ridiculously stupid.
one you get in there are 3 options:
Split Screen Co-op
Private match co-cop
public xbox live co-op
For somebody with only 1 controller, (me) split screen is not an option. and for someone whos friends are all playing other things and havent bothered to download the demo (me), private co-op is not an option.
this only leaves public co-op.
only problem with this, is that THERES NO GODDAMNED CUSTOM OR QUICK MATCH OPTIONS. When you click on public it automatically forces you to create your own game, so then you have to wait 20 min for someone to join. BTW did I mention solo is disabled in the demo?
GOOD FUCKING JOB EA, way to make the demo unplayable. dumbasses.

That was funny as hell - but all true. I never connected because I was so tired of waiting and got pissed off. I did want to try this since the first one was decent, but they really screwed this one up.

the game features advanced weapon customization and upgrade systems, as well as four explosive online multiplayer modes, each focused on unique cooperative play. See the nice video here - http://www.techarena.in/video/23612-army-two-40th-day-psp-trailer.htm
