"Sony heard you liked games, so it put an MMO in your Home so you could socially game while you socially game."

Why? Why would you copy that?

HighFiveJesus, it's an old Pimp My Ride meme. I think it was something like, "We heard you like cars, so we put a car in your car so you can drive while you drive." Errr...something like that.

Whoever is designing Home content must be smoking a ridiculous amount of weed. I'm sure "a salt shooter" caused a rash of giggles that didn't end for weeks.

The reason the game is called a salt shooter, is because the creators of the space and several pieces of Home virtual items are called Sodium & Lockwood. Sodium = Salt.

I love Sony but Home makes me embarassed to own a PS3 some days. I swear that isn't intended to be a flame, I just can't get over how utterly pointless and dreadful my every experience with Home has been. Just an opinion.

I don't see why. I have no problem not selecting Home in the XMB....

If it's not your type of thing just don't deal with it, I personally don't. It's just another option for those who care about that type of stuff, just like Facebook, Netflix, and any other option.

I have no problem not using Home. It's when Sony announces renovations and interesting additions that I run into trouble by being tempted to jump in and try it out. It's at these times that I realize my mistake and regret wasting even more time on a title(?) that gives me nothing in return.

Personally, for the very reasonable price of FREE, I think I'll give it a shot before I rag on it.

Of course. We always get the "lolol home sux!!1!" posts. Well I personaly find it very entertaining and useful. Sometimes me and my friends go in to play games, watch things in the theater or just talk. The amount of customization is really amazing (albeit expensive). Sure it has it's flaws but so does everything else.

For the reasonable price of free you get a bunch of crap minigames that have better flash equivalents online. Why do posts that love Home always get voted up? Seriously, the games there are mediocre, and going to watch something in the theatre? Like what? Crap trailers or commercials? The amount of customization is far from amazing, even if everything offered were free. It would bring the grand total of any one category of clothing to "dozens". I can understand why it isn't appreciated when people just come on here to say Home sucks, and when it came out there were haters, but now people have legitimate concerns with the lack of meaningful content and the "lovers" are just the opposite of the haters. I think it's time we check the people who come on here and gush about how awesome Home is. It does not suck, but it is not awesome, Home is okay.

well if you experience home and xi you would understand how home works not only did it make the ps3 worth buying but it enables users to actualy interact on a 3d virtual world full of freebies and minigames also the amount of digital items available to purchase allows you to make your avatar unique and a representation of who you are or simply who you are not LOL t-rex head or hamster or anything else plus it will provide sony with the ability to provide multiplayer service free which is good because i also own an xbox and a gold live account and i wish it was free it would give me more money to spend on arcade games

Reading your article I was kind of iffy on the idea till I watcherd the video. Now it seems like it would be a lot of fun and I look forward to more news on it (Name is wierd but the game has a mad max look to it so I guess it could work)

I still don't understand why people complain about having access to free content that they can choose to ignore, of course I keep forgeting this is the internet where down is up and up is down and women make logical decisions.

Hey i know some of you Hate Home and find it pointless but i have an idea. i think it would be pretty cool if we met us in home ( Friends List Full ? ) well make another account just for home so someone can add someone else then we can all meet in person and chat for awhile. I was thinking of this idea for sometime now.

Anyone else think that would be cool ? some people i like to meet in home at the top of my head are !

Solace
Chris D
Tmac
JohnnyNumber5
Captain Planet

( maybe some Joystiq Staff ? )

i think this would be pretty cool to talk to each other live in Home and not just in a forum ( tho this place is ok ) but not good for long conversations

I got an idea for Home. add the ability to climb shit like altair. THEN have random NPC's stnding around with scavanger hunts, and you gotta run around the Home area finding these things.
makes home worth exploring and a reason to spend time in it, 2 birds, one stone. Also, freerunning

I'm really impressed with the level of content Home has now. This doesn't sound like my cup of tea personally, but I'm glad Sony is putting lot of options out there for those that want to use it. I do use Home pretty often to just play pool, bowl, or just chat with people, it's a nice tool and there's so much to do in Home now. It's pretty neat. I'm glad Sony is supporting it so much.

The write-up did not do the video justice! I clicked on the link to see how badly people were ripping on this idea but then I saw the video. That actually looks kind of interesting. I will probably check out the free levels at the very least.

It simply amazes me how angry people get when it comes to free stuff. You get everything, including Home, for free and everyone is acting like Sony has ripped them off in some way. As some here have been saying, if you don't like it then don't use it. Simple is that - or is it?
