The problem is it really isn't free. Sony does more than just make consoles and games for consoles. They have a branch called SOE. Sony Online Entertainment. The "home" environment looks suspicously like it uses the Everquest Engine or the EQ 2 engine (have not seen it live, only movies on boards so I cannot tell if it's EQ 1 or 2 engine). Therefore while it is "free" for PS3 players, the EQ players or SWG or Planetside or Vanguard subscribers funded the development and implementation of it imo with their monthly fees plus the fees for expansions they have paid over the years. This new game on Home looks like Tanarus to me or is at least based on the engine and spruced up for PS3 users.

What the FUCK are you talking about Necrotix? Home is free for its users and that's all that matters. GTFO of here with that nonsense.

But it is free. It's free in the sense that users don't need to subscribe to access, or use, Home. Regardless if you think that Home is funded by other Sony platforms, or that the service uses the Everquest engine, is just speculation, and frankly, I don't care. What they do with their own profits is their business. It's normal for corporations to use their profits to fund another branch of their company. Microsoft does it with the Xbox 360. Profits being made off of the Windows OS is funding the 360 and Zune.

Plus if you haven't used Home, only watch video's of it, then how can you make a basis to your argument if you don't know what is in the service?

Just saying it looks exactly like the EQ engine that I played for 9 years... I didn't bash it or anything--chill out fanbois!

This is actually kind of cool. Can't tell if I got all the levels or not (though I did get the personal Sodium One space), but I enjoyed the few minutes I spent with it. Would be even better if you could go against real people though. Game reminds me of Stellar 7.

In other news, the PixelJunk Shooter home rewards are live, and totally kitsch!
