European Nintendo downloads: Starship Patrol, A Boy and His Blob, Eat! Fat! FIGHT!

Today's European Wii/DSi Shop update includes one of the most cringeworthy localizations in memory. Tecmo's Tsuppari Oozumo Wii Heya, the latest in its long-lived sumo wrestling series, appears in Europe today as ... Eat! Fat! FIGHT! Sure, it's more lighthearted and less a strict simulation of sumo, but Eat! Fat! FIGHT? Really?

A Boy and His Blob and Street Fighter II' (the PC Engine version) arrive on Virtual Console today, and DSiWare has yet another original Q-Games title: Starship Patrol, a futuristic-looking tower defense game in space!

DsiWare sucks so much, there's only about a handful of games on there that's actually worth it. I'm also surprised that there's no gameboy game of any sort on DSiWare, like the VC, DSiWare would be the perfect chance to make money off GB/GBA games that aren't selling anymore. They should know games like Golden Sun, Metriod Fusion, and Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages/Seasons would sell like hotcakes on DSiWare.

I was thinking about that earlier and I don't think we'll see DSiVC until the DS2. Simply because the built-in storage space on the DSi probably doesn't have the room for more than a few GB games and fewer SNES or NES games, which would limit the profitability. Granted, some people, like you and I, would buy SD cards, but it took them so long to give the Wii some extra storage options I don't know that it's even crossed their minds. That doesn't stop me from wanting DSiVC though.
