Namco Bandai is unsurprisingly working on a sequel to Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm. Revealed in the latest issue of V-Jump, the sequel will take place right where the first game left off, at the beginning of the Shippuden series. Not only will the cast of characters be older in the sequel, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 is promising some big new features, primarily 4-player support and a multiplatform release. Yep, unlike the first game, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will be released on both PS3 and Xbox 360.
Details are slim at the moment, but with a planned 2010 release in Japan, we'll undoubtedly find out more soon. So long as CyberConnect 2 can expand on the game's depth while keeping its good looks, anime fans will want to keep an eye out for this one.

The first thing my friends and I said when we booted this up was how ridiculous the animation was. Smooth and seamless comes to mind.

Awwww damn really? This is a terrible blow to the PS3 community. We have lost exclusivity to this diamond of a gaming series. *Snaps finger*

I would not say "stolen", just lost. It's not like 360 gets exclusives from it, just shared titles, so a bigger audience can enjoy it. So please, unless there is a loss of quality due to multiplatform development, there is no reason to cry.
Although I hope they manage to keep the same if not exceed the fantastic graphic and animation from the first game. If the NUNS2 looks worse than NUNS1 on PS3, I will be pissed. the animations were the best.

Because all the American kids who watch the dumbed down version would be like; "wtf. who're these guys?" Then they would google them and spoilers and rage would ensue.

lol @ D-5
They should at least have a current gen game that's up to date out in Japan. That way those of us who keep up with the anime or manga could import. Far as I know, the only Shippuuden game out is for the PS2.

There are also shippuden games for PSP and Wii, and maybe DS (not sure though)

For those like myself who only own a 360, this is great news. I just hope they have some of the adventure elements found on the Xbox titles. Combined with CC2's superior animation techniques, this game would be awesome.

The first one was/is truly awesome but they need online multiplayer and trophy support in the second title. The game was cool because it was part open world action adventure and part fighting game. I guess this means the broken bond series will come to PS3 if there is a sequel?

For some reason I don't feel like that would be a great idea - more Naruto. It's probably because the Wii version wasn't that great.

Ubisoft must have realized they sucked at making anime games and given up the rights for the 360 naruto Games. I guess the better for 360 fans to play a great game, but the trade off is that Im sure the graphics will suffer from being a multiplat.

Ubisoft Montreal is a good developer and the X360 Naruto games they developed are generally well-regarded. What company do you work for again, keyboard warrior?

Those games were shit. They looked like crap compared to UNS, it took 2 games to do what 1 game for the PS3 did, and you think I'm talking out my ass when you are living in your own world? Dumbass.

Reviews pretty much only criticised UNS for having a simplistic combat when it is much more deep than what it seems. If they had the time they would have realised UNS > BB.

I played and am fond of both, but honestly BB had more substance. The visuals in UNS were amazing, but almost all the story was told through big text box's, nothing came close to the intro of BB when you play as the Hokage that gets killed by Orochimaru, then when you play as Naruto wearing all black somberly walking around the Hokages funeral. Plus the xbox really nailed the online experience in BB.

Bamco is usually good at doing multiplat games for both the 360 and PS3. Look at Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur IV (even though these were different teams in the same company). Plus, since CyberConnect 2 worked on the original UNS, I think they're better off working with the PS3 than a LOT of other developers that I've seen. UNS looks extraordinary, and that's just their first attempt on the system.

Hope it doesn't take a hit on the graphical side when going multiplatform, that was one of the highlights in the first one, the animations was just so darn impressive.

If the game is created on the PS3 first, then ported to the 360, it will not suffer any decline in graphical quality. Given this company's dedication to the Sony, I believe this will be the case. The 360 is capable of graphics comparable to a PS3, if programmed correctly. I think, if anything, the 360 version will not match the PS3's visuals, not the other way around.
As a sole 360 owner, I'm just excited I get to play this series. The Ubisoft series had great online functionality and the exploratory elements were really fun. I own both 360 titles and they are very fun.
CC2's games are very cool though so I think if the best elements from both series are implemented here, this could be the benchmark anime-to-game translation for years to come.

if i remember it correctly didn't it has a giant 2 gb install to the PS3?

So . . . does this mean Ubisoft's license for Naruto is over? Either expired or revoked? As I recall, Takara Tomy had the license for Nintendo platforms, Namco Bandai for PlayStation, and Ubisoft for XBox. Activision never did anything with their Naruto license for Intellivision.

Hope they learned the lesson, or else you would have to censor many more words next time! Some may even tell you that CC2 made that decision themselves, to improve sales and please fans who doesn't own a PS3, but don't listen to them!

Sorry, I am a PS3 kinda guy myself, but you don't have to throw away all senses of logic just because you're a fanboy. It may or may not be a great game, but either way, you can still play it on PS3.

Ugh people like this really irritate me..
I mean seriously, who cares if this game goes multiplatform?
Now people who own a 360 will get the chance to play it.. what's wrong with that?
It has no impact on you hardcore PS3 fanboy retards WHAT-SO-EVER.
So quit your bitching, Namco Bandai isn't your damn girlfriend cheating on you with Xbox 360 or something.
The PS3 has plenty of good exclusives for you to brag about. Get over it.

Sorry, what? I'm sure they do care about money, but how does making it multi-platform mean they don't care about the fans? Ohhhh, you mean the ps3 fan(boy)s! Well, that is clearly a more important thing to take into account than say, i dunno, Naruto or fighting game fans.
