For those who haven't been keeping up with it, Split/Second is a racing game that lets players use the environment against their opponents. For example, you can cause a whole building to topple directly onto the road, thus changing the course of the race -- and possibly crushing a few opponents in the process. In short, it's great fun, to which our E3 hands-on can attest. Fans of racing and big explosions may want to mark their Michael Bay Swimsuit calendars pronto.

Looks cool but I get the feeling once the novelty of explosions has worn off there won't be much reason to continue playing. They'll need to have a level of depth and sophistocation to it to encourage replay value ... maybe a constant stream of DLC or a track editor. Looks like something I'd like to play but only in short bursts.

Actually previous demos have enticed me more. I want to see more gameplay and less cutscene.
Still, as I liked Burnout Paradise a ton, I expect I'm going to like this.

played it at E3. What you see in the trailer is basically how the game looks and plays. What you see in the trailer is what you will get and it is a ton of fun

No it's not. Whenever the camera is display a point of view that isn't from near your car, car controls don't make sense. This is obvious cutscene stuff. Not saying it isn't in-engine, but representative gameplay.
I'm not saying the game is crap, I can't tell. It looked great from in-game footage I've seen before. I just want to see more of it.

Knowing that there will probably be a Need for Speed game next year, and also GT5, I am (already) seriously considering Split/Second to be my racing game of 2010. It's just so awesome...

i still want to get more information on how the events are triggered. example for the major event do you have to be close bye or is it always triggered, say you are in last place and try to get people on the other side can you trigger it at any point or just when you are close.
it looks awesome but if there isnt enough different events it would become to repetitive. but it would be chaos if there were too many events.
that being said i really want to check it out.
