CliffyB, you started on the PC, please don't be like the other former PC-centric developers that shat on the PC. If you want to go to consoles, fine, but don't abandon the PC entirely. If you don't want to port Gears of War 2 to the PC, I'm sure you can farm it out to some studio that wants to.

I can't believe you made games for the PC 15 years ago like Jazz Jackrabbit, Jill of the Jungle, etc. I played as a child and now hate the platform.

I agree with you but I don't think it's up to Cliffy to port Gears 2 to the PC. Pretty sure that's a Microsoft decision seeing as though it's their IP. Seeing as though they made pretty much no money off the first games PC version, it's unlikely. Sad.

That is too bad, I'm sorry my purchase of the PC version didn't make a difference to them. : (

I've been spoiled seeing Gears 1 run at 60fps on my PC and then the sequel at 30fps on the Xbox. I'd like to run the sequel at 60fps+ and 1920x1200 on my PC. Microsoft you douches!

I found out that Polish developer "People Can Fly" ported Gears 1 to the PC, why not get them to port the sequel as well? CDProjekt is Polish and are also behind The Witcher, I love you Polish for loving PC gaming. : D

They did an alright job of porting Gears but not a fantastic one. I'd much rather Epic do it in house. They became popular through the PC platform and they know it really well. For being one of the leaders in the "PC Gaming Alliance" it really says a lot to hand off your PC port to another studio.

And yea, I bought it for PC as well. And I'd buy the second one for PC in a heartbeat.

"I love you Polish for loving PC gaming. : D" It's not love, PCs are the biggest market here. Console games still have the "Eastern Bloc tax" (paying ~$80 for the new Sonic is ridiculous), which makes easy-to-pirate X360 the fastest selling console.

I call em like I see em. After replaying it recently since the ridiculous hype has died down, it's actually slipping further down my goty list. I had it at 5 before, now I'm not even sure if it will rank in the top 10 with me.

Epic games tend to be great for the first two days, then you see all the immense things that are wrong with it, and you sell it.

And is it just me or does he TRY to be cool/douche? I mean seriously? "I can't say a damn thing about it no matter how many alcoholic beverages you might try and feed me! Well, maybe if you bribe me with hookers and blow, that might work."

I seriously hope when he says this shit in person the interviewer just looks at him and shakes his/her head.

Considering most of these interviews are usually just PR-speak and there is no personality, it's kind of refreshing even if it's juvenile.

I'm glad he's in the industry. I'm glad he makes games. I'm glad he isn't not being himself. I'm glad he is a public persona.

Honestly, we could use less suit and tie PR reps who carefully wordsmith their announcements. Whether you like or don't like Cliff, be it personally or because of the games he's worked on, I appreciate his presence regardless.

Don't think we'd ever hear the hookers 'n blow line from Imperial Hot.

I don't understand why people hate on him so much, just becuase he doesn't act or talk the way you want him to, who cares (ultra run on sentence). He makes good games. Gears is one of the best games on the 360, and is the reason why many people purchased the system in the first place. I am actually looking forward to gears 3 or any other project he is working on.

That would be a pretty risky move for Microsoft though. Pairing Halo with Gears? I'd like to think Microsoft wants to wait a year on Gears 3 and that Epic wants to use the extra time to overhaul it so it isn't just a cookie cutter sequel again (and doesn't have the persistent matchmaking woes).

I'm tired of the monotone boring interviews that happen all the time.

He's different, not like other people. It makes him unique and interesting. I like his style of presenting himself, his games, and his company.

So fuck you to those people who don't like someone who tries to be different.

I'd like to say Gears 3, but what happened to this PS3 game they were apparently thinking of or actually were in the process of conjuring up?

Hopefully Gears 3 makes up for the little things that let me down in Gears 2, help me relive the good ol days of Gears 1 :D

As much as I want Gears 3 to come out asap, I think a PS3 title from Epic would be good. If Unreal Tournament III is any indication, they're the only ones who really take advantage of how open the PS3 is as a development platform. If whatever they make for the PS3 has mods and proper M/KB support like UT3 did, it's a day one purchase for me.

@Eh

No, it wasn't the same game. Thew new weapons and maps as well as how they nerfed the shotgun and added stopping power all made multiplayer play completely differently. With power weapons like the Mortar on every map it always seems unbalanced. It's a very different game to play, more of a tactical shooter than an action shooter.

If that weren't enough hit detection seems to be constantly broken, lag spikes are unavoidable, you can't join matches in progress or play private matches with people you don't know, matchmaking takes forever and instead of continuing to play with the people you just got to know you're always put back into the lobby. It seems like the whole matchmaking system is built so that you spend more time waiting than playing. It's just awful.
