The Japanese agree with me that there is no real reason to buy a PSP Go over a 3000.

Except for the screen, which even Joystiq writers were praising over the PSPs previous offerings.

Im getting a pspgo this Christmas. I just want it for music and nice screen for videos and some of the games that i might enjoy off psn like gow or nfs shift or better yet ff dissidia. I still have my ps1 games to put on it as well.

Games ? Eh whatever. I wouldnt ask for something that i know i wouldnt get from it (games not on psn). Sure i cant play most games like there are on umd. But whats on psn will last me enough for me to be happy with it. I just want to be able to carry a nice smaller psp on the road.

So wait, FF XII took a back seat to NSMBWii and Tales of Grace? Never thought I'd see the day a Final Fantasy game would make a console come in second place...

These sales figures works backwards. The next batch of Japanese sales figures will represent whatever effect FF13 has on the PS3 in Japan.

I should just hand in my gaming card now.

Oh mighty Joystiq Overlords, please accept this most humble of offerings, that you may benefit from it, and that I may relearn the wise ways of not being wrong, twice, on the internet. I only pray that you one day feel I have redeemed myself and have re-earned my right to game.

Nope, I remember too. Why the fuck are you even trying to use JEDI mind tricks?

Unless you are a Jedi.

The Jedi do not have a monopoly on Force Persuade. Think about it-that power is too easily misused to have been created by those pathetic, simpering Jedi.

Really? The Sacking of Coruscant comes to mind...as well as the Jedi Civil War (only lost because those silly Jedi corrupted Revan). I seem to recall that fool Palpatine royally butchering those weaklings.

Heck, they were defeated by that emo whiny bitch, Anakin Skywalker...

I'm thinking about getting a PSP Go because I'll be traveling a lot for work pretty soon and I'll have a lot of free time. The Go is enticing me because it'll permit me to travel lighter and I can use it when I get bored of my DS (which I have an undying love for, by the way). Anyway, anybody want to talk me out of it?

Get a used PSP, hack it and get a big memory stick. Thank me later.

Deaftly's idea sounds about right. The only problems with his idea are moral (you can't use PSN with a hacked PSP, right? So you couldn't buy downloadable games legit. Though i'll admit ignorance on the subject), but otherwise you're getting a cheaper version with (once hacked) more functionality

Aside from the size difference, I don't see how it could really benefit you more than a PSP 3000 if portability is your main concern. You could just buy a big memory stick (or as was suggested in the gift guide, get a sdhc to memory stick converter for around $5 then use sdhc cards). Then you can download the games just like you would for the PSP Go, but also have the option of UMDs for around the house... and you'd save money too.

If you have the money, why not? I want one 'cause I like the look (and the fact it has 16gb internal memory) but I'm not willing to shell out $250 for it when I can barely get a new PS3 for only $50 more.

Yes, use the PC software or PS3 to do so.

@WRE

I had a GO and absolutely loved the thing. If you get one just check that the screen doesn't have any dead pixels (mine did and I took it back) ... really nothing to complain about as it's the most beautiful piece of consumer electronics I've ever owned. It's damn sexy.

@Khan

What are you even talking about? lol. That made no sense what-so-ever.

the purpose of modding a psp is to steal games. Since you want portability get a GO. You can actually put it in your pocket ... unlike the regular PSPs which you need a case for games and the console. Why buy a PSP 3000 if you are going to buy a memory card and put digital games on it? Thats just silly. You can get a GO for $199 or less if you just shop around. Get the pearl white instead of the piano black ... less fingerprints.
