The game just came out a few months ago, and already they have a sequel lined up? Even Kotick can't move that fast on cashing in...

As long as the sequel is as great as the first game I don't see what the problem is. I actually wish more developers would work that fast and efficiently. You think it's been easy waiting 2 years and 2 months for Mass Effect 2?

tmac is right, if the developers are still putting in the same effort and producing the same quality, you're just taking a trendy cheap shot at the developer. They made a great game, in a universe that many would like to see more of, why wouldn't they make a sequel?

The first time through the development team needed to create all of the gameplay mechanics as well as craft the story. If they have done a good job creating a way to efficiently create more levels, and extend gameplay mechanics like detective mode, it shouldn't take nearly as much time to create a sequel. Not to mention this is just a teaser trailer, with no gameplay footage, the game isn't coming out next week.

Development cycles for games have gotten incredibly long and gamers have just become used to the wait. You shouldn't insult a developer for trying to keep their game in the public's mind and assure us that there will be a sequel. If they get a quality sequel out in less than two years, more power to them.

well FF13 hasnt come out yet(in the US at least) and they had already announced FF14, but you don't see anyone complaining about it. as long as the sequel's the same amount of high polish and great gameplay I'm all for it, besides they didn't announce a release date which will probably be at the earliest holiday 2010

A lot of studios make games with sequels in mind. Keep in mind there was probably a good couple months between when the first game went gold and when it shipped. It's been 4 months since the game shipped, which is plenty of time to plan out the basics in their sequel and make a short teaser. We still have no release date for the game and I doubt it will hit in 2010, so enough with the "too soon" bullshit, please.

I'd bet the game doesn't come out next year anyway. Thats typically how these teases work. They are teased then at next years VGAs you'll see some gameplay footage premiered in anticipation of a release in Spring of the following year. So, I don't see this game coming out until Spring 2011 at the earliest.

Those clues were a bit to fast to read and then notice them on the actual footage.

Im really enjoying the 1st one, although its was a bit slow at the beginning and some of the boss battles are a bit disappointing(Croc dude).

And I didn't pay $10 dollars for it, I payed $0 :D

There isn't anything wrong with borrowing a disc from a friend, that's one of the wonders of physical media. But bragging about it because you don't think the game is worth $10 is a different story. I guess I shouldn't be suprised, a quick look at your profile reveales comments like this:

http://www.joystiq.com/2009/12/18/rumor-survey-hints-at-premium-psn-subscriptions/comments/24049758/

So it's clear you're always cheap, as well as proud of it. Would only buy a 360 if it was modded? Way to support the industry, asshole.

I wonder why the fat cats try to shut down torrents and such but not used games sales. With used games, more people get to enjoy that game but the developers don't see any additional money.

because the used game was paid for once and is legally the buyers property to do what he wants with it. Torrents are illegal in everyway however. Dumbass

also they clearly do try to shut down used game sales as evidenced by recent first day DLC stunts like Dragon Age's The Stone Prisoner or Saboteurs Midnight show. That's really the only way they can "shut down" something that's completely legal and I would say ethical as opposed to torrenting

A used game sale is a transfer of the license to play a game from one person to the other. A torrent is thousands of people playing the game with no license.

Heres an idea smarty-pants if you can't read it fast enough use the pause button!
The way you use it is you click the left side of your mouse or as you call the little thing that fits in my hand with a wire sticking out and some weird thing for something I've heard of called scrolling! Don't worry after a couple tries I'm sure you'll figure it out!

Wow, you're really a major douchebag aren't you? You obviously like to play the games. But for some reason you think you are owed them. I don't understand where people get this sense of entitlement from. People like you make the world worse for everyone else though I get the feeling you actually get a kick out of that.

I got caught up in my response above, but I forgot to mention that I really enjoy this trailer. If all these little things are hints (which I'm sure many of them are) it just demonstrates, yet again, how devoted the developers are to the Batman universe. I'm glad the franchise is in the hands of developers that are dedicated to the history Batman has.

I though it was really amazing how in the first game they were able to blend the batman universe with gameplay so perfectly. It's nice to see a licensed game where they really thought about the characters and stories and built the game around that. Too many licensed games are just new character models on an old rehashed game, which is why they end up falling flat.

This is easily my most anticipated game of 2010, unless Zelda Wii somehow sneaks out. Arkham was a brilliant combination of Metroid Prime and Bioshock. Here's hoping for some more boss variety in the sequel, though.

Wait, how was Asylum remotely similar to either of those games? Aside from there being exploration elements and auiotapes, I'm not seeing any connections.

Also, It probably won't come out in 2010.

Maybe I'm the only one who got a Metroid Prime in 3rd person vibe. Detective mode kind of reminded me of the visors and both games rely heavily on atmosphere. I don't know, perhaps I'm wrong.

I guess I can see that. You actually do scan things to solve riddles, too. I tend to look at core gameplay mechanics more than anything else though, so it's a bit abstract to me to think swinging from gargoyles and fistfighting thugs is similar to either of those shooters. They are similar in that they're atmospheric and have scanning as well as exploration. I just didn't really make the connection.

Also have to consider that the grappling hook devices are very similar to the grapple beam.

Then consider the Scarecrow stages, which I found similar to the game areas that require you to use Samus in ball form (jump and avoid damage).

So I guess it makes sense to say that the sequel is an adaptation of No Man's Land then?

Then again I haven't played the first game yet (I know I know) so perhaps the events that will be the main focus in the sequel have already been hinted at in the last game.

The first games plot was wrapped up really neatly aside from a "hey there's gonna be a sequel" after the credits scene that seems pretty unrelated to this one from what little we have of it. But I'm happy my suspicions of No Man's Land seem to be coming true!

I hope it's an adaptation of Knightfall, and Bats get his back broken 15 minutes in, so I can play as Azrael for most of the game. Kinda like Metal Gear Solid 2.

I know gaming websites/blogs borrow a lot of content from eachother, but c'mon? Slow news day so you make an article out of a Gametrailers.com video feature? Shaky ground there, but I have often seen Gamespot taking articles from Kotaku and Joystiq.

I really hope they put Mr. Freeze or Clayface in this game, those two would make for some pretty epic boss battles.
