they seem really intent on ruining my self imposed budget plans. Fine. They win.

MDK. One of the weirdest and coolest games ever made. Loved the bizarre art direction. MDK 2 sucked though.

Yes, it is. Especially after you install the source code project and all the media mvps: http://scp.indiegames.us/

If you are interested in space combat games then get Freelancer. Its similar to Freespace but Freelancer is newer and is a sandbox openworld(openuniverse?) game with RPG elements rather than map based like Freespace. The graphics arent offensive either since its only one generation old.

If your interested in Space Combat get Freespace. If your interested in a Space sim/trading/combat game then freelancer is a good choice as well.

I have to get around to playing Freespace 2.

I played Starlancer on the Dreamcast and thought it was fucking amazing. I feel like I'm the only person on earth who's played that game though.

I actually have Starlancer (legal in fact) in my Dreamcast right now. It's a fairly decent game, but it doesn't support the DC flightstick I have that it claims to support. Even though I'm a huge Wing Commander/Chris Roberts fan, I will say though, that Freespace 2 is still, by far, the best space combat game ever made. Playing it in 1080p with the SCP and MediaMVPs is amazing!

The American version of Nutella sucks. It's more chocolate and sugar than the European versions. I can't even taste the hazelnuts anymore. I'm not sure if they changed the Euro versions by now but it used to be better in the 90s.

I'm sick of companies dumbing down food products for what they consider weak American tastes.

Get this:
"In the American market, Mon Chéri was actually filled with hazelnuts and did not contain liqueur, similar to the Ferrero Küsschen that is sold in Germany and Denmark. After more than 20 years in production, this variety was discontinued by Ferrero."
HAZELNUTS. Now that is dumbing down.

Yeah I'm in that boat - curse the human mind's insistence on making assumptions.

I shall continue praying to the Gods of gaming for it, along with a new Carmageddon.

New decade's still a year & a half away, though.
Just saying.

Back on track, I really, really hate Steam's holiday sales every year due to the stress on my wallet, and now GOG's going toe to toe with them.

okay before I buy a game can Windows 7 run Fallout 1. 2, and tactics? Mass Effect never installed no matter how many methods I tried.

Mass Effect works fine on my Win 7.

GOG work with all the games they have available so that they work on new Windows versions, so while the original retail Fallouts may or may not work the ones you get from GOG will.

I still have my PC copy of MDK I bought back in 1997.

Thanks to DOSbox, it still gets played quite often.
