yea I over exaggerated like shit...but its hundreds of thousands of people that love it....it was not without its faults in the first 3 Betas but I hear that they fixed a LOT of it in the 4th Beta. If they did and things run smoother now then it should be fine. Were you in the 4th Beta?

I won the beta from the joystiq contest, but the game just looks so damn generic I couldn't even bring myself to play it. What's the point of this game other than adding 200 extra assholes for me to deal with?

Yeah it can be. Playing against 9 camping/noob tubing/glitching assholes is better than playing against 128.

Agreed. Zipper should get back to making Socom, especially after the disaster that was Socom confrontation. The only thing MAG has going for it is the large player count, but you could get the feeling of a large battle with smaller maps, and a smaller player count anyways.

I played the beta once after waiting 20 minutes in that ridiculous queue line. Totally generic and there really isn't anything special at all about it. The sound effects are also hilariously bad. I would have played it again but having to wait in the queue just made me fire up MW2 or the BC2 beta, ya know, where I can just play instantly.

Zipper Inc is a terrible studio to begin with after Socom 2 they completely ignored their fans and were burned by it. They couldn't handle the Socom fans and when shit hits the fan with MAG they'll be gone from the community just like before.

I really liked the game a lot from the beta. It's actually something fresh in the FPS genre that's trying to push the genre forward. I want to get it but I won't have enough time to play it with all the other stuff coming out. Between MAG and Bad Company 2 I think I'll just go with BC2.

A lot of people hate on Socom Confrontation but it's actually a really good game. I need to get back into it but it's very underrated and is far from a failure or disaster. I guess it had some launch issues (never experienced them myself) that have since been rectified.

MAG is great because it really is a tactical squad based FPS where you can't just Rambo up and expect to have success. My experience has been pretty solid and people actually do work together.

As usual the same people who are always hating PS3 stuff are tight here doing the same shit even though they've never played it.

I really did feel like I was part of something bigger and wanted my faction to win the mission to take control of the shadow war. To those saying Zipper should just make another Socom ... It's basically what this is just w/o Socom in the title. It's pretty amazing to have a large scale war like that with ZERO lag. Maybe if I can get it cheap or on sale I'll pick it up but with BC2 around the corner I might wait for that. I don't think it's possible for either game to have the issues MW2 had since you know ... they did betas and have more experience with multiplayer. I think the reason IW didn't do a beta is because a lot of people would have passed on the game all together: myself included.

I really enjoyed the beta, I think it will do well, I really like the setting and backstory. I'm glad they didn't go with modern or WW2 fps settings.

I'm really getting sick of the whole "should of made a new socom" whine too. They didn't, now live with it. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but it's about as annoying as the second analog nub for the psp whine.

I just skimmed through your post.. It's kinda dumb to assume everyone who doesn't like this game is a PS3 hater. I've been a Playstation fan/supporter since '96 and I'm not as delusional to think Socom was a half decent game. I've also played the MAG beta and what the others above are saying is true - it is very generic and nothing stands out. It tries to do too much and does nothing right.

I completely agree with Solace, Zipper abandoned their real fans a long time ago. Did I mention how awful and generic MAG is? Ugh. There are plenty of other great games on PS3.

Really? I think it's quite the opposite of that statement. It's set in the not so distant future and is a squad based fps with maps that can support 256 players.

I agree with you, even the dam soldiers move like those from socom, they recycled a lot of audio and motion features....I think they also rushed this one out...

Well, cowtown, it would be kind of pointless for me to try and have a legit discussion about this game's flaws seeing as how the console extremists are so quick to downvote. Basically I think this game can't decide whether it wants to be a Battlefield or Modern Warfare rip off. I really, really disliked it and would rather play Socom over this - and that's saying something. Again, it would be pointless for me to rant on about it.

Some people like it, good for them. Not my cup of tea though.

I don't really mind the downvoting though, on this site, its used as an "agree+/disagree-" type of thing instead of people downvoting pointless or stupid comments.

No harm in giving it a shot since it's a free demo. I'm personally un-impressed by it, but I've been un-impressed by it since the debut trailer.

you tend to be un-impressed with a lot of things PS3 related, which is ironic given i generally only see your name in PS3-related stories.

If you only go to ps3 stories, then naturally that's all you would see my name in...but I post in a lot of topics, not a lot recently as I'm using someone's else's computer (mine decided x-mas break would be a dandy time to die) until mine gets fixed.

there isn't much on the Wii that impresses me, ergo i seldom go to Wii-related stories. if i went there constantly saying how unimpressed i was with the system and/or its games...well, i'd be trolling.
