First of all, its pronounced "FAL-CONE POUNCH".

Second of all, why can't I change my stupid profile picture from Generic Mario? Everytime I do, it says it'll take up to 5 minutes, but it's really more like 5-6 months.

But it's for a cheap Chinese knock-off Wi so it's the correct spelling. Super Smash Bros is the 500th game inbuilt into this, along with such waggle games as Pacman, Pong and Global Thermonuclear Warfare.

Normally I'd be all over Ninja Gaiden, even the arcade game, but I spent the better part of a gamefaqs-free year trying to unlock it in NG Black. Was it worth it? No, but at least I got to spend quality time with the greatest 3D action game ever made (imho of course).

On the one hand, YAY! It's about time Smash Bros came out. I didn't like Melee (it was way too fast for my tastes) so the original Smash was always the best until Brawl for me. I can't wait to play it again.
...on the other hand, I really, really hate NOA for sitting on these bigger VC games like all the time.

Bring on Illusion of Gaia next!

I would pay Nintendo damn good money if they could figure out how to exploit the VC to their advantage. For example, I would pay some kind of conversion fee to transfer my Super NES and NES purchases to my DSi. Nintendo could make $200 off of me at $2 a pop, easy. Or how about putting some GB and GBC games up there? Are they running out of places to store cash reserves or what?

yeah me too. melee was WAY to fast pace for me, although i did enjoy it. SSBB was the one i really enjoyed the most, i just wish the online wasn't so laggy. it would have only increased my enjoyment and love for the game but i still had plenty of fun playing it offline. i mean, almost everyday, my friend would come over and we would play SSBB ours at a time fighting against the CPU's. i really felt that the CPU's in this SSBB were the best because everytime me and friend fought them they would have a different style of fighting. one day we would mop the floor with them, then the next day they would slap us silly.

They probably aren't the easiest to get working perfectly. I mean, they are the only games that have to reinitialize after going into the Wii Home menu. Could be that Nintendo of America royally sucks with VC though, the games that haven't been coming out on N64VC have primarily ben the western developed ones.

It seems that VC releases is another realm where NCL has more of a say in what gets released and what doesn't than either of the other regions, which would make sense since, from our western perspective, their seems to be an imbalance in TurboGrafx16 games (a console that was basically DOA over here, but huge in Japan), and a shortage of N64 games (a console that performed best in the west, but really came up short in Japan)

I'm not sure about this, what is the difference between the DK Country trilogy and DK 64? DK64 characters and music were featured in the latest Smash Bros game. I don't think Rare has rights to DK64 at all, but I might be wrong. There was a Banjo-kazooie cameo, I think, but I'm pretty sure one of the SNES games also had references to older Rare games...

legal issues. It got an ESRB rating a long, long time ago, but has been held in limbo as NoA lawyers suggested that a lot of the music was ripped off/improperly licensed, and a lot of the pop culture references would require licensing too

More of a mess than it's worth for them, sadly enough. The better option for them would be to do a trilogy re-release, where they could iron out all the problems keeping the series from going global (tunes and references in EarthBound, severe balancing issues in Mother 1)

I'd be more in the mood for Mother 1 & 2 with those titles (Earthbound as fitting as it is, only screws up the naming for the other games).

That way they could sell Mother 3 as DSiWare.

B.S. There are hardly any pop culture references in the game and ALL of the music is original. The problem is that Nintendo of America is butt-hurt over Earthbound's poor sales even after all the hype and the super-special edition release that included the Nintendo Power guidebook. Ever since they've pretended that the series didn't exist, especially regarding Mother 3.

I'm surprised that Brawl even made it overseas since the game contained Lucas and other Mother 3 references.

No, there definitely are a lot of pop-culture references and songs that sound eerily similar to licensed music in Earthbound.

I wonder why anyone would want to drop cash on SSB if they have Brawl? I mean, it's not like there was anything taken away from the original formula by the later iterations.. I feel like there isn't enough difference between the old and the new to warrant a 'nostalgia' purchase. Maybe I don't know what the Hell I'm talking about!

Maybe some people like SSB64 more than Brawl OR Melee. I don't know.

I feel the same way. This is more for nostalgia purposes, but i feel like the fuzzy feeling will wear off before the money is justified. This game doesn't really cut into brawl sales either.

Which is why we will never see Super Mario All Stars or Chrono Trigger for the VC

Oh, and never say something like that in front of a Smash Master. They're freaks.

Anyone know if there is a reason why they haven't released Mario Party yet?
I read somewhere they probably aren't releasing it because they got sued back in the day over all the blisters people got on there hand (you know that bike game where you twirled the analog stick to pedal the bike)

Probably made up though

The arcade version of Ninja Gaiden was the first game I hoped for when they started the arcade section of Wiiware. Dropped plenty of quarters into that game cabinet and am now looking forward to playing it at home.
