The only hockey game series I'm worried about getting cancelled is NHL Hitz. Those games rock so hard.

What? When? 2004?!?! Oh god, I didn't even get to say goodbye!!!

If anyone bought the franchise, they would change the name right? Right?

The name wasn't changed when Take2 bought them from Sega.

Thank god!

The season ending bugs I experienced in NHL 2k9 (it was a gift) are now avenged.

Really? I had season-ending bugs in 2007 and vowed to never buy another 2K sports game again. I feel avenged as well :D

EA has been kicking their ass for a while when it comes to hockey games. Too bad since the competition they brought was the reason that EA NHL games had improved dramatically from before.

Despite the series being lackluster, this is not good.

Competition is very healthy. We need this competition so EA doesn't get lazy & screw up their NHL series.

Just as well, because EA's offering of hockey goodness is miles better than the 2K attempt.

Actually, I just hope EA doesn't rest on their laurels. NHL 10 may be a good game, but it's still a long ways away from capturing the essence of professional hockey completely.

too bad.

...only goes to show that this generation of video game consoles has totally upped the ante when it comes to developing titles. I don't know if that's good or bad, but EA has also taken its bumps despite being such a big company.

These days, making an "ok" game isn't good enough.

Even if you don't like the NHL 2K series you should care. Without competition there's less of a drive for another company, like EA, to push the envelope with their titles. Some of the early Madden games, after they landed an exclusive license with the NFL, should be all the proof you need.

This is too bad. I skipped NHL 10 because it was the same as 09. NHL 2k10 is actually pretty good. Oh well, can't have everything

Well that totally ****ing sucks. Greated 2k6 and 2k8 are trash, but the last two years, especially this year, it is FAR and away better than EA's offering, at least in my opinion. 2k10 is the first hockey game I've really enjoyed since NHL 2007.
