Can someone explain Vagrant Story to me? Is it an RPG? I know it's made by squeenix I have been looking for a decent PSN RPG to quench my thirst until FF13 comes to Europe in (hopefully) March.

Wait, you know it's made by Square yet you still question if it's an RPG? It's more puzzle-y than Final Fantasy.

More puzzley than Final Fantasy, but still part of the Final Fantasy XII/ Tactics timeline (Judges, dalmasca, etc.)

One of the best RPGs ever made, should have done better than it did. Don't know how well the graphics will hold up today.

It's an action RPG with a very cool story and is directed by the director of Final Fantasy 12. It's very very different from the typical Square RPG...it caught everyone's attention at the time for its espionage style plot and full 3d graphics (which was pretty rare for Square at the time).

Will Europe not be receiving an update next week as well? Otherwise meh. But canit wait for Little Big Planet water updare will be nice. Here's hoping America gets a better update. Hoping it comes at an earlier hour for once.

I seriously wish we get Vagrant Story in the states today...if not I'll be pissed. I'd gladly trade FF8 for Vagrant Story any day.

@thetveye: Square developed and released a bunch of non-RPGs in North America before they merged with Enix. Some of them were even really good:

Bushido Blade, Einhander, Brave Fencer Musashi, and there are probably a few more I'm forgetting. Those three (particularly the 2nd and 3rd) were awesome non-RPG games developed by Square. It's what they're known for (with good reason), but it's not a ridiculous question to ask if a late 90s Square game you've never heard of is an RPG or not.

And yes, Vagrant Story was awesome. I'm probably in the minority, but I liked it more than any of the PSone Final Fantasy games, except maybe FFIX.
