They also launched dashboard music stores for Rock Band and Lips today.

So does this mean that the 'New Arrivals' in the Marketplace WON'T be cluttered up with dozens of shitty songs I can buy, completely negating my ability to find content I give a shit about? Because that would be great.

I get that same feeling when I see the marketplace new arrivals cluttered up with all of those shitty map packs, leaving me unable to find the songs I actually want to buy.

Yes, because the one map pack amongst 24 Rock Band songs is really cramping your ability to find your disorganized, and pointless content. Pointless, since everyone uses the in game stores anyway, that is. If these music game stores put all of that content in one place, I'll be happy.

I LOL at this misinformation! It's GH's dedicated music store...just like the ones that launched today for LIPS and Rock Band. Oh Joystiq....

Don't get down on Joystiq about it. It's likely they only received a press release from Activision

Its just a music store. Rock BAnd and Lips got one today. They look like the in games ones, although the Rock Band one lets you chose from RB/RB2, Beatles and LEGO.

Best of all, the RB/RB2 store still shows you what songs work with LEGO :)

That's like saying "the best part about this restaurant is that they also serve drinks with the food!"

It's not awesome that they do, but rather it would be retarded if they didn't.

So essentially it's like the Rock Band Music Store, just not built in... right?

When I saw this and the RB/Lips ones on Major Nelson's gamercard, I figured it might have been a special thing where press members etc can get DLC for free. As it is, I suppose it's nice to browse the DLC catalougue without having to put the game disc in but it's not that big of a deal really.

VIP Pass would have been a good name for the rumoured subscription service for GH DLC.

I haven't checked out GH's yet, but for RB it's a HUGE deal.

There's over 1000 songs for that game now, and by providing an out-of-game music store interface, it allows people to browse the content using all of the in-game sorting features.

All without using a disc.

VERY convenient.

to be perfectly honest, lips' music store looks the best out of the three. shows you the music video and has your avatar dancing around and everything. i like it.

also, the gh store reminded me how most of guitar hero's dlc is awful when put up against the rock band. oh boy, random european songs no one's heard of and new album tracks from artists that hit their peak decades ago and have been mediocre ever since? keep that bar low, boys.

I just want them to put it in a different section so I can actually see real game content when I look at the most recent DLC in the marketplace.

I just got into Guitar Hero after being a Rock Band owner for a year. I find that the GH5 section of the Playstation Store is pretty cluttered. World Tour has categories where they separate song packs from single songs, and put trailers and stuff in their own area. Going into the GH5 section it's just everything dumped onto one screen. Ugly. They should make this VIP thingy for PS3 too.
