I don't care if it's still Silent Hill. Is it a good game? I can't seem to get a straight answer...

It's something that's really been bothering me. I never played any of the original silent hill games, and in every review I read there's some sort of bias about how it's not like the original. I want to know if it's a good game, I don't care how different or similar it is to Silent Hill.

We played through it over the weekend. It really isn't a Silent Hill game story wise and it does have some issues but I enjoyed it never the less. I'd say rent it and check it out.

I played it last weekend also. It was a good game, too short but it is a Silent Hill for me, at least a very unique one. Love it or hate it this game is a decent one.

I mean, isn't Homecoming "not really a Silent Hill game"? The main guy walks around with weapons and ammo and plenty of security blankets throughout the whole game. It's almost like the RE5 of Silent Hill games.

It is a good game, and it is very much a Silent Hill game. People seem to forget the horror of Silent Hill is deeply psychological, and Shattered Memories has that in spades.

Though it's possible to beat the game under 3 hours, reacting differently to the psychological examinations will give you a much different run through. It's also got a great storyline, and the ending was crazy. I'd rent it though, IMO.

The best analogy i heard is that it's the Resident Evil 4 of Silent Hill games. Take that for what you will

I liked the adventure parts, but not the running from naked people parts.

I'm not sure what kind of comment is this.
Is this a "Psh, SH:SM isn't scary at all" comment?

Konami seems to utterly lack faith in the title on all fronts. I'm expecting shockingly low sales across the board.

A buddy of mine just got me this for Christmas. I'm a longtime Silent Hill fan (2 is my favorite) but have typically been forgiving of the series' "lesser installments," including Homecoming, so I'm looking forward to trying it.
