So does this justify Telltale's comments that the iPhone is more powerful than the Wii?

Running naked through 8 lanes of rush hour traffic and falling off an overpass onto a truckbed of glass > Wii.

I agree. What I cant understand is that why apple cant release a Bluetooth controller or for that matter even a simple port connecting controller. It would sell a lot and really help standardize a button controller.

remember though, that this is by a developer that puts time into their products, something the wii has too few of to be a viable hardcore gaming console. I mean, sheesh, even nintendo hasn't put out very many decent hardcore games recently- it's all Wii Fit Plus and stuff. still fun, but exceedingly casual.

lol yeah that's why the Iphone versions of Monkey Ball (very literally) look like N64 games compared to the Wii version. Cuz the Iphone is just better like that.

Like Macabrearts said, it's all in the group behind the graphics. If companies aren't willing to put in time on the Wii to make things look good then they won't. That doesn't speak to the performance of the console.

True, but all that speculation is worthless in the face of tangible demonstrations like the one we see here. Talking specs is great, but useless if you never see it perform.

Yeah I think Apple would do a really good console, but it would most likely be all digital download games considering their current business model and so they wouldn't get any support from games retailers.

Uh please, the Apple vs Microsoft is bad enough. We do not need to add a console in there, plus it would cost like $1000.

Screw the Apple vs. Microsoft debate, I'm more concerned about the potential four consoles vs. my wallet battle that would bring. Apple would never create a gaming system though, not again anyways. We're lucky they tolerate the iPhone/iPod Touch's status as a gaming platform.

They have, It was called the Apple Bandai Pippin and it failed miserably. I doubt they would make the same mistakes again.

apple would make a terrible console with no buttons, charge up the ass for 'style' and put constant firmware patches to fix simple problems only to create more simple problems.

@Brian: Yeah its really quite disappointing that Epic went so far to fit the UE3 for the iPhone and not the Wii.

Although they did say that the UE3 engine is only for "next-gen, high-definition" and they don't have time to run it on portables too.

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2007/02/interview_epics/

So maybe the Wii is weaker than the iPhone. Oh well.

The Wii is NOT weaker than the iphone...epic just doesn't wan't to waste their time on it, so they made up some bs that UE3 can't run on the Wii, which, obviously, isn't true.

I'd like to see an iphone fps with the fire button mapped to the physical volume up button, so both thumbs could still be used for dual analog control.

Im not too fond of macs because theyre just too overpriced but if Apple actually designed a handheld designed for gaming from the ground up, i think it would be untouchable.

The Wii's problem may be with memory. The iPhone 3GS has 256, while the Wii has what, 48? 64? not enough for UE3 probably, graphics prowess aside.

That's pretty impressive. I don't think anyone really doubts the iphones processing power. The real problem is still the same with all iphone games. The controls for an FPS are awful.

As Saneless said, the iphone has more memory than the wii, which probably has more to do with it not running than the processing power. According to wikipedia the wii has 88 MB main memory and 64 MB for the gpu. Not a lot to work with. The iphone 3GS on the other hand has 256mb of memory. You also have to consider the iphone only has to render the game at half the resolution of the Wii.

We all know the iPhone isn't more powerful than the Wii. Anyone who says so is a fucking retard. It doesn't take long to see the differences in Wii and iPhone games. iPhone can not keep up, nor will it.

And wtf does Telltale's know anyways, none of there games even use half of the power of the systems they are on. pfft

Let Ubsoft, Capcom, or shit even EA make a comment like that. Then I may take it as truth.
