I love that you made "Braid" it's own link! haha.

"Shadow Complex" needs one, too, tho.

How the hell does Trials HD not make it anywhere on this list. It is, along with Shadow Complex, my favorite arcade game of the year.

BF 1943 is under Action instead of Shooters? Really? And 'Splosion Man over Shadow Complex and 1943? Um.. not a very good list Joystiq.

'Splosion Man is a total action game though, Shadow Complex is Action/Adventure. Blame it on the pigeonholing.

Yeah and I talked to this one guy this one time, and he totally thought regular Uno was way better than Uno Rush, so yeah, totally Joystiq, awful list. Uno Rush, really?

Good list. If you have limited or no experience with Magic, I'd strongly recommend the $10 Magic game that came out on XBLA this summer. Matches don't take more than 10 minutes, and it becomes engrossing and fun with lots of strategy.

I've been replaying Shadow Complex the last couple days, and it's still the best game on xbla. Now that it's $10 for this week there's no excuse not to buy it.

I liked Shadow Complex, but I am a huge fan of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. As a matter of fact, if you like Shadow Complex, I'd definitely recommend Symphony of the Night. It is probably the best Metroidvania game ever made.

I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1 was indeed kind of cool for what it is. Unfortunately I couldn't get back into the nostalgia of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, use to be about the only game friends and I would play allllll the time back in my college days.

Joystiq, you missed recommending the Avatar items:

2010 celebration glasses

and

Holiday present

...which are both free right now. A much better investment than a virtual fictional weapon for $5!

The reason the original UNO is not on this list is that it only supports one player per box. Not much of a family board game if only one person can play it.

If we're plugging Indie Games in this here Buyer's Guide:
• Anyone who wants to play their Guitar Hero controller without playing Guitar Hero (or Rock Band) should absolutely check out Audiball
• 5.1 stereo havers have gotta try In The Pit
•Bullet Trap is a fun little co-op shooter
• Weapon of Choice is totally friggin' rad

A lot of people still play it online too. I bought it the day it came out, but it's in pretty much everybody's Xbox 360 collection because they gave it away for free on Xbox LIVE's fifth anniversary.

It's a great version of the game too. It comes with the River expansion, but you have to buy River II and King & Scout expansions as separate DLC (I think they're only $1 apiece though).

When you look back, XBLA has had some amazing titles this year. One could buy all these amazing games, and still have a great experience without the full priced games.

Good choices here but how can you leave out Castlevania: Symphony of the Night? It is a good fit for both the Hardcore and Retro categories.

I totally agree with those saying Trials HD and Defense Grid should be on this list. Also, Shadow Complex should be on top of Splosion Man, although both are great.

FYI, Worms 2 was the daily deal on Saturday for $5 and it's still listed at that price right now.

One more vote for Trails HD.

Also how can you guys not talk about Psychonauts? It's retro-kinda. Well, the PS3 list got to have PS1 titles, can't we include one original xbox titles here too? It's Psychonauts for goodness sakes. Ok, that was my rant for the day. Carry on.

This is a really fantastic list and I was happy to see the Joystiq brand on the XBOX spotlight. I am happy to see that some popular and some offshoot games made it onto the list.

Nice getting 'Splosion Man right there at the top Richard.
