The creepy part, you see, is the music behind the trailer. Specifically, it's a parody of the classic holiday tune, "The Twelve Days of Christmas." What's so creepy about that, you ask? We're not exactly sure. Maybe it's just how earnestly it's being sung. Watch for yourself and maybe you'll see what we mean.

Sonic is still relevant, he is pretty much like Britney Spears, everybody was waiting for a comeback and she delivered, now it's time for him.

Why Ryo Hazuki is in it is as confusing as Banjo & Kazooie in the 360 version.

Is he was out, people would be bitching about it, it's like Fans want Sega to remember the game that made them broke.

Who is that fellow with the chicken-like features? He is so familiar, but I can't place him.

Mario did it right and did it when he was relevant still. (Although after the Wii version I'm not sure what else they could do without it being boring. That goes for all of his other side adventures too.)
This game reminds me of the kids at grade school who tried ever so hard to fit in. In theory they did everything right but since it was si transparent most just felt pity and ridicule for them.
Even if the game is fun, which it should be at least be good if not excellent, it will still be a kart racer and well, that's getting old. For me at least, of course I know others are wet with anticipation, hoping for the former glory days of Sega.
Eh, either way Sega has always been an acquired taste and I can't fault them for still kicking and screaming to get in the club house. There's always someone who sneaks them in.

Oh really? I didn't know that......that's called sarcasm by the way. Of course it worked but look, Sega seems to be resorting to some wierd genre's for Sonic when his right place is Platforming just like Mario. Mario does have a huge variety of genres but very rarely do they work out. The only 2 out of the ordinary genres I could name for Mario that worked are RPG and Racing but everything doesn't really have as much popularity as these 2 genres for Mario other than Platforming. But Sega really needs to keep Sonic in his rightful place but we will have to see with this new Sonic platformer in the near future. This also isn't the first racing game of Sonic's. Remember Sonic R? Make's me think of the annoying but somehow catchy soundtrack. lol. "Gotta keep your feet right on the ground......" Sega should think about following this lyric......

Super Mario Galaxy courses? With Galaxy-style gravity?
That would definitely add a kick to it.

You must be the only person in the world who does not think of Super Sonic when confronted with "Sonic" and "Super Mode".
And what the hell, sonic turning into metal sonic?

Because then it'd be unfair for other racers to see Sonic whizzing by with no need of a car.
It'd also be unfair for Sonic, when other racers start side-smashing him with their cars.

Hmm, I don't know... cause it's a "Kart" racer? So, you need a Kart, to race with. *shrugs*

Ugh, so yeah, that was incredibly strange. From a marketing point of view I don't understand the video... How on Earth does a... very strange rendition of a Christmas song along with a pretty standard trailer video make me, as the consumer, want to buy a SEGA kart racer?!

Thing is... Link isn't in Mario Kart, cause he just wouldn't look right in that game. Ryo looks completely out of place among all those cutesy characters.

It's a reference to the fact that Ryo isn't exactly a "colorful" character. I loves me some Shenmue, but Ryo is one wooden dude.

I don't think they were hoping the song would draw you in. Like any trailer, just by showing it and making you familiar with it is the marketing goal. On the otherhand, maybe they wanted you to be disturbed by it so you could talk to your friends about it, which would, in turn, be free advertising for them, from you. It's a silly world.

Wait... it's a game loosely based on the Sonic series... yet 5 wasn't "golden rings" anymore?
