Toys R Us Sale: buy 1, get 1 'half off' after Xmas

Toys R Us will feature a "buy one, get one half off" game sale on all console and some Nintendo DS software starting the day after Christmas (that's December 26) through January 2, 2010. The sale covers all Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, and PS2 titles, along with Nintendo DS games that are $20 or less.

Remember that TRU now accepts game trade-ins, although dealing with the customer service desk the day after Christmas will likely be a nightmare -- just imagine all those parents trying to return the white Zhu Zhu Pet because their kids wanted the brown one. Stores open at 8:00AM on December 26 for those who want first dibs on the discounted games.

so this is basically like a 25% sale but with the following conditions....you HAVE to buy 2 games and you have to choose from the crappy selection(made even crappier since it's right after xmas) TRU has to offer...no thanks.

I found a few last year (3/2 sale), but the selection really was pathetic. I'm not bothering this year.

Yeah 'the day after christmas' is a little long why don't they just use boxing day?

It seems like Christmas is getting a Part II this year since that blizzard shut down a lot of stores on their biggest day of the year, this past Saturday.

They had a sale like this a couple of weeks ago. It wasnt a deal at all because the games you can find discounted elsewhere were all full price.

This "sale" is a joke in comparison to the Steam sales. As a matter of fact all games sales are a joke compared to the Steam sales.

$20 or less... Maybe an old Madden game? ugh, I really hate when TRU does the $20 or less on their game sales; I don't want old games or games that were so bad the fell in price like an old lady with a bad hip.

There are two Wii games I'd like to get that should be $20 each, and Toys R Us doesn't even have them on their web site!

No, I think the deal applies to ALL games (@Chad Little and Garu) and not just games that are $20 or less. The $20 or less thing only applies to Nintendo DS games.

I stopped shopping at TRU when I got stuck with $200 of merchandise I bought online and they would not take back...come to find out if you buy online you only get store credit if you return it. Even WITH the receipt!!! Don't shop TRU!!!

I stopped at TRU the other day and noticed games marked at full price 49-59.99 that are normally 19.99 elsewhere.
