Traceur_Ryuk is right. If you go there with the mindset you would with Busch Gardens or Six Flags, you'll be bored out of your mind. But if you go there for a pure nostalgia high. You'll be going back every year...like me and my other college aged friends...SHUT UP DISNEY RULES!!!

My family's existence pretty much revolves around Disney. My sister works there and so I go at least once a year if not more. I'm looking forward to next summer after I turn 21 so I can partake in some of the fun stuff that their vacation planner DVD doesn't want you to know about.

Disneyworld is alright now. I'm more of a Universal and Islands of Adventure kind of person. It's great to take your kids though. I also had a great time as a kid.

No. I was more of a Cedar Point kind of guy anyway.

Having said that, I'm all over this if they have any Disney Afternoon items available. Talespin bomber jacket for the win!

sorry for the rant but also..

it comes from their status as a capitalist organization- that is, they want to make all of the money that they can, with an optional regard to those who might suffer. Basically, it's because you pay for all of their films, television shows, theme parks etc. and they don't put any of that money back into thec ommunity When's the last time you've been to a Disney funded hospital or community center?

Another reason is that they are at the forefront of the legal battleground. It's not too hard to get Disney to sue you. All they need is the information that you've made reference to one of their characters, slogans or anything else that they own and they can take you to court very easily, which they will. They, along with McDonalds, give America the reputation that you can be sued for quoting someone, or fined for doing an impersonation- basically, the land of red tape and lawsuits.

Yet another reason is that they copyrighted 'the happiest place on Earth'. This can be debated over for a long time, but the phrase itself is an opinion, not a fact. One man's rubbish is another man's treasure. So one man's paradise is another man's hell. This is just one case of an overuse of copyright.

Some don't like the way that Disney treats people- their child stars develop disorders such as anorexia to remain popular and many a family business has been destroyed by this corporate machine. For the child/teenager stars of Disney, the world is too easy, as they make many a low-quality film which somehow still makes money, which can result in them being trapped in Disney's control, as no one else will hire them afterwords.

There are conspiracies that Disney owns the government, but the real annoyance is that Disney can get away with all this and still maintain its image.

This just in...Walt Disney intended Epcot to be his own private town!

I'm sorry your parents didn't love you enough to take you Disney parks as a kid MonKENy. I really am.

If it makes you feel better, I promise to take myself and my kids twice as often to make up for it.

Regarding the lawsuits about copyright/trademark infringement, that's basically how intellectual property laws operate. The courts aren't going to listen to your case, no matter how frivolous or earth-shatteringly important it is if they find out that you didn't try to defend your IP. Sure, it makes you look bad, but you really cannot pick and choose because the system's set up to be a sort of all-or-nothing gambit.

I've actually asked this question to one of my lawyer friends and this is the paraphrased explanation I got. I'm pretty sure that Joystiq has a column known as Law of the Game Joystiq or something that has covered this very issue as well.

By that logic Frosted Flakes are evil for copyrighting they’re great!

It's too late now, because everyone who has already bought avatar clothing would be outraged, but WHY couldn't you just be satisfied with the money you're making from Xbox Live subscriptions, DLC, and arcade games, and maybe give us the avatar clothing for free? My friends and I don't care about our avatars because we don't want to fork out our money to have a better selection of virtual clothing.

No idea what he's whining about. They get to run their own Disney town with land that they purchased and they had the foresight to get a bunch of bureaucratic bullshit cut out first. None of this affects anyone unless you live there, and no one here does since the only people that do are the 65 Disney executives and family.

actually it effects everyone in the community since whenever they feel like expanding an already bloated franchise they strong are ppl out of homes and businesses and land..force them out at dirt bottom prices or drive business into bankruptcy so they are force to close down and sell out cheap..

Its capitalism at its worst..its just like wal-mart..ING...BofA..etc...anyone who thinks they do a good thing for the country or the ppl who live within it have no idea about politics or any concept of the reality around them..which is again making me scratch my head as to why im replying on a video game blog considering most ppl use games as away to escape reality and therefore live in a bubble...Why dont you guys wake up and pop your bubbles?
