Oh man there's that unpleasing laser angle again. Hard on the imagination. Difficult to suspend disbelief.

Heh heh... It does "bother me," although that wording may be a bit strong to describe my feelings... I was just bringing it up as a joke, since nearly every time Joystiq mentions this game they run that image, and people talk about the laser's angle.

It happens in Halo 3 as well, with the Spartan Laser, much worse angles too.

My fave was definitely Point Lookout, then The Pitt. Other than raising the level cap, I actually thought Broken Steel was pretty shitty. Operation Anchorage level shitty. Only one I haven't tackled is Mothership Zeta, which is pretty tempting at 5 beans.

I kind of liked Anchorage. Spend around 60 hours of solid adventuring, and get treated to a decently set up action romp. Reminded me of Deus Ex: Invisible War. Mothership Zeta tried the action thing again and I thought it just completely fell flat. I did enjoy some of the alien energy weapons, but they weren't worth the $10 asking price, maybe $5 if you're hankering for more Fallout 3.

In total agreement over Broken Steel though, very disappointing aside from the level cap and being able to continue after the original ending (which I thought was a fine ending to begin with).

Zeta wasn't that bad in my opinion, it's got some nice alien weapons, but story and universe wise, it's lacking. Still, it's worth 5 bucks.

Thank God I played the other four first. Zeta has some awful bugs in it. If you get hit by them, like I did, then you can't progress any further in the quest and your character is stuck on the spaceship forever.

The only known workaround involves console commands on the PC. Mothership Zeta was released over 4 months ago, and this has not been patched on the XBox 360.

Zeta is the most original. I loved the fact that they incorporated the great UFO craze that was a major aspect of 1950's culture. That whole time period was fascinating, I love aliens and UFOs. Sure, Zeta had very little exploration and freedom, but the atmospheric designs and combat was awesome.

What do you guys think, should I buy the 3 I need for the 360 (Pitt, Zeta, Lookout) or just put that 15 bucks toward a game of the year PC version?

if you already have the game for the 360, i don't really see the point in buying the GOTY edition for PC. it's cheaper to just get the DLC and you'd be paying more for a repeat experience.

PC = Mods.

Just get the PC version, and download the mod that lets you build your own city in-game.

I'd put that 15 towards the PC version if your computer can handle it. You'll get all the DLC, along with whatever mods you want, and with the GECK, you can modify/create any weapons/armor/whatever you want.

And besides, it's down to $37 on Steam until the 3rd, so there ya go.

@WXsniper
Can you use mods with steam games? I didn't know if that would disturb the file structure in steam and or have problems with the launcher from steam. I know certain games don't like patches and require steam updates instead. I have only used steam for a few games that were all from Valve.

Go to Marketplace on Xbox.com, buy them and place them in your download queue. You'll get the packs for the discount price, and they'll be downloaded when you get your 360 back.

The spamming has gotten pretty bad over here, but it's even worse over on Cinematical, where it really does feel like the report does very little.

Either that, or I'm the only one reporting anyone over there.

I had Fallout 3 and all DLC on Xbox 360 before I gave it away, and had just finished playing it. I really, really want to play it again though. Is the PS3 version as good? Saw a pretty good deal on the GOTY edition and I'd probably pick it up if it's not as choppy as Dragon Age was.

I saw a review that commented that the PS3 version is far inferior to the 360 and PC versions believe it or not, the graphics didn't port well so you see everything being drawn as you move. They had comparison videos and it was pretty clear.

I think the GotY version for PS3 fixed most of the bugs, but the initial game did get hammered in reviews for being more glitchy than the others.

I played through the most of the campaign on PS3 without much exploring, as I got it as a rental. Biggest problem I had was sound acting up after scene loads. Either it would crackle like crazy or just go nuts with all sorts of high pitched distortion. A save and reload would usually fix the problem, but it was annoying as hell. Given the reviews and the fact that DLC wasn't coming to the PS3 I bought it on the 360. Can't say that the 360 version was without its bugs as well, but at least it never let out any ear raping tones.

Go with the GOTY edition, which you can find for $40 or cheaper. Even with this deal, you are paying $25 for the DLC. Unless you can get ahold of the original disc for less than $15, it's cheaper to buy the GOTY edition.

Plus, the DLC comes on a second disc in the GOTY edition and you can install it on any hard drive with any user, so you could basically share it among friends.
