You might have noticed a serious dearth of Disney characters speaking in Japanese on Joystiq lately -- we sure have, and it's just tearing us to bits inside. Thankfully, Square Enix seems to have taken note as well, recently updating the Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep website with more than just wallpapers (though you'll find three of those on there, too). How about the entire seven-minute-long trailer from Jump Festa 2010?
We've embedded it above, though if you're dying to know what the people in it are actually saying, we suggest you check out the full translation right here. And then, once you have it in English, you might ask your nearest Kingdom Hearts fan to translate further.
Knowing nothing about the game, nor caring nothing for the game, I'd say the title has something to do with being born, or born again within one's dreams.
So with that being said; it fits right in with the scheme of things.
"Birth by Sleep" probably refers to the blonde kid in white/black (Roxas) was created (born) when Sora (KH & KH2 hero) is forced to sleep for a few years.
It looks like a few of the characters in this are "Nobody"s of other characters (black haired = Riku's Nobody, the girl being Kairi's Nobody). Birth By Sleep is a very fitting title if that proves to be the case.
After not really playing games on my PSP Slim this year (aside from very early on with Resistance), I'm unfortunately going to sell it. Maybe in a year or two when the price of the Go drops or when the PSP2 comes out I'll get one and go back and play this because I really do want to. Shit looks pretty epic.
*sigh* This game is making me want to purchase a PSP. I'm still having a hard time justifying the price of the thing though with how very few games I'm actually interested in playing on it. I mean, it's still pretty much this and Castlevania, which is kind of sad.
I think I've been watching too much Naruto, because a lot of those voices sound very familiar. Also, can't wait for this game. One of the last reasons I still have a PSP.
Because there is only around 8 Japanese Voice Actors... Seriously every voice in every movie or game sounds exactly the same. Why? Because there is no diverse ethnicity. Only Japanese people - in America we cast different races; we have a Japanese man voiceo a Japanese man and a black man voice a black man. Japan just has Japanese voice every person and it is utterly obnoxious to non anime fans.
Crisis Core disappointed in it's gameplay. Dissidia disappointed in it's story AND gameplay. Let's pray that since Tetsuya Nomura is directing this, it's going to be good.
Dissidia was awesome. Not gonna argue the gameplay of Crisis Core, as it felt really awkward in it's linearity and hub-based navigation. Either way, was very happy to play through both of those (168 hours on my Dissidia file to prove it). This should be another great release for the PSP.
I can never hear the Japanese voices for Disney characters without laughing. I really lost it on Mickey, Goofy, Dale, Hercules and Stitch. Those were just so incredibly terrible.
anybody who even thinks this will be on the wii is a retard, like ff 13 this is one of square enix's biggest games, they will use the most powerful engine which is the ps3, and IF this is on the xbox it will be on multiple discs like on ff 13, please get that wii is only good for first party titles
interesting will look into PSp when it comes out. but hikari again come on at least have a new opening song. it is also nice they have cameo of all the other game characters.
The Japanese Mickey would have made be burst into laughter if it wasn't for the Utada Hikaru song immediately after, that song always gets me.
I'm highly anticipating this one. I'll have to hold back a the desire to play the Japanese version until the full English one comes out MUCH later this year.
This game looks totally epic! And is funny to hear Disney characters speaking in Japanese. I even recognized one of the characters (not Disney's) voices with Jiraya's of Naruto. LOL
For this and Peace Walker, I'm really thinking to buy a PSP...
If you're talking about the one at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix+ that was for this game. Otherwise I have no idea what trailer you're talking about O_o
If I'm not mistaken on the translation, I think one of the Disney character asked, "What did you use on your hair? Did you use a hairspray or gel?" I think that's pretty much it.
