Oregon Trail... almost makes me wish I had a DSi.

Unless it's like the sucky iPhone port.

I can't not imagine it being like the iPhone version.

On the other hand, if I were to find out, I'm sure I'd die of dysentery.

Well, it's developed by Gameloft, the guys that made the iPhone version.

Wow another awesome Nintendo download week?

I expect this to end starting next week and not start being awesome again until December 2010.

"'Forget about being healthy. Here's a game that celebrates eating, getting fat and fighting.' It's all the best parts about being an American"

I see.

Oh Oregon Trail. I remember the countless hours I spent in third grade playing that game.

Good times, good times.

Don't count on it. We don't talk about it so we also don't type about it. The rules are the rules.

If they'd make an Apple IIe section for VC and release Oregon Trail for that I'd buy it.

:(

Finally i know the burden of having too much to play, and not being able to indulge in the good stuff as it rolls around (two RPGs and another game that's quasi-RPG have that effect)

I haven't seen anything worth buying on WiiWare or VC since Mario RPG and Secret of Mana. I'm just glad I got Earthbound for my SNES for Christmas. At least I'll have one awesome Nintendo game to play.

What the fuck, serge808? It's a 2D Castlevania game. How the fuck is a 2D Castlevania game not worth buying?

I'm just not a big Castlevania fan. It isn't worth it for me. It might be worth it for everyone else, but I just don't like Castlevania. Sorry.

After toying around with the Rabbid's Wiimote minigame, I was quite happy they made it into a wiiware where you can abuse your Rabbid on the go in Rabbids Lab.

But after buying it, I can say. more some basic functions, it's a very striped down version of what you get in Rabbid's Go Home and I wouldn't recommend buying it. You only get the vice, a santa and turkey hat for items. Although the painting function is untouched. The Wiimote itself has it interacting with just the B button, shaking and the gyro.

Ubisoft had a quick cash in, but they couldn't even do that right. Shameful really.

This is a freaking great week! Oregon Trail for DSi - nuff said. Pilotwings - nuff said.

Castlevania Rebirth has gotten pretty glowing reviews from people I know that played it. They basically took the setting and story of the Gameboy original, and made a completely new game. As someone who wants a classic pre-Metroidvania game, and likes to play a sidescroller with my favorite Belmont's this is just what I wanted. We're only talking $10 for such a game, and I'm glad it's getting released in '09.

Everyone seems to be overlooking The Magic Obelisk here too though! It's from Game Arts, they're awesome, and it's a unique and legit game for only $5. Here's a good preview on it and the developer's pedigree: http://www.siliconera.com/2009/09/07/game-arts-casts-its-shadow-on-wiiware/

I must say though, that there's room in my collection for both WiiWare's Magic Obelisk, and Hudson's upcoming "ICO-esque" Wii game, "Lost in Shadow", which is looking better and better according to previews: http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/article.php?id=14103
