One of the games I would pass by on my way to play TMNT or The Simpsons... it looked cool, but the cowboys never drew me enough to make me want to play it.

Speaking of Konami games and Cowboy games, I passed this every time I went to pump tokens into Sunset Riders.

I don't know why but I loved FMV games back in the day. I had Double Switch and Corpse Killer on my Sega CD 32X and played the hell out of them.

After further thought...

Maybe I didn't like the games at all and I was trying to justify the fact that I bought all of that Sega equipment... BRAND FUCKING NEW! Yes! I cut so many freaking lawns after school so I could pay full price for crap that Sega supported for mere minutes!

*tears gathering as I facepalm*

That wasn't necessary Brad. "SEGA CD 32X" shouldn't need visual aid, if people don't know what it is they shouldn't be reading this blog. I'd say just point out that it's also the "SEGA Mega CD Super 32X" and leave it at that.

I forgot how big that thing was! If I remember correctly, you had to plug in 3 AC adapters just to power the whole thing! I didn't have any power strips back then so I had wires stretching all over my room just asking to be yanked out of the wall by someones ankle.

Yeah, it takes three power bricks. Then you've got the 32X-Genesis crossover cable, and the AV cable. If you've got a model 1 Genesis, then you'd add the mixing cable running to the SegaCD as well.

And then you couldn't play the SVP version of Virtua Racing...

Holy crap, I haven't thought of this game since I played it when I was 5. Now I feel old.

I played this years ago in a Las Vegas Arcade. It looks pretty bad but it's actually the best (by a long shot) of all the live action American Laser Games and has some good re-playability. The holster mechanic is what made it unique and you literally had to draw and shoot faster than the computer players (never could cheat the system). The first levels are easy but when you get towards the upper levels it gets pretty challenging and the last guy is close to impossible unless your an actual quick-draw professional. Realize that this game is NOT about shooting the bad guys (like all the other video based games) but it's about trying to get that extra 100th of a second off of your draw. That in itself makes this game a rewarding experience. People should give this a chance and not judge it for being a live video based game.

Live action cut-scenes REALLY don't belong in games. Using 2D sprites or 3D models actually shows you put some effort in your game, though.

Buying Mad Dog Mcgree was the biggest gaming mistake of 2009. Yeah, I bought the game knowing it wasn't all that great, but I had played a CDi, I knew FMV games, so I knew what I was getting myself into. Well, that's what I thought, anyway.

Who's seen that movie 'The Room', that Tommy Wiseau vehicle. Well, Mad Dog is pretty much the video game equivalent of 'The Room', except any charm from the bad acting was washed away by the inherent awfulness that is the need to time every shot.

This Wiiware game looks no different.

While I definitely wouldn't have paid $50 for it, those of us who *cough* obtained *cough* it for much less and can just laugh at how horrible it is have a blast playing it with friends.

I honestly think we need more games like this. Since nostalgia is on the rise, why don't they make more games with FMV with actual actors instead of 3D models. I'm looking at you Warner Bros Who owns the rights to Mortal Kombat!!!!

People have to realize that these games are reaching people who have played American Laser Games in the arcades. Are they technically good...NO! Are they well made....NO! Is the acting good.....1000 times NO! What makes these games fun is the fact that we remember this junk and we remember wasting money on this junk in the arcades.........and enjoying it! Regardless of how bad these games are they will always have a place on current consoles and won't leave until all the gamers of the arcade generation are dead.
