I was hyped until I saw the gameplay footage. Looks like this is just another retarded brawler, like the rest of the Musou games. I was hoping for something a little more technical and challenging.

The fact that you had expectations out of a Dynasty Warriors game is the biggest fail I have ever seen in my life.

Srsly.

The fact that neither of you have probably played a Dynasty Warriors game is even more fail. Don't knock it til you try it folks.

The problem is once you play a DW game you've played them all. Played 3? Then you played 3 xtreme legends, 4, 4 xtreme legends, 5, 6, etc etc. It's literally the same goddamn game every time. Same levels, same characters, same story.

@ all haters above...

Since when did beating the shit out of hundreds of dudes, whilst some of the screamingnest cock rock blares from the background, climaxing (non-stop or not) at a boss battle during which your musou guage becomes full and you burst into flames and deliver hundreds of strikes in mere seconds, become boring.

Goddam, don't be so pretentious. It wasn't cool when people did it with music and "films" during the nineties, and it's not cool now.

It wasn't boring in the first or even second game. It became boring when I was doing the same shit in game # 6.

lmfao @ tmac's "same story" comment. No offense, but seriously? Do you expect them to change the story on a Dynasty Warriors game? It's based off of history/novelization of history. I'd go so far as to say I would be disappointed if they changed the story.

I can see it now... Dynasty Warriors 7: Wei vs Wu vs Shu vs Vikings in Space.

I'll agree to an extent on the gameplay being repetitive, although they have tried to make changes to it recently. They gave everyone new movesets in 6, as well as a new ability and combo system. A lot of people didn't like it because it was different. I guess you just can't please everyone though.

To continue what I said above, the same can also be applied to both levels and characters.

Yes, they have the same levels. In name. The layouts and design is different with each entry. Sure, some of the landmarks are the same (hey, Hu Lao Gate has a giant gate...) but the rest of the level is different.

As for characters being the same, again, these were the people in history/the novel, so that is to be expected. At least they tend to add new characters with a new DW title (the exception being 6, but they reworked the movesets for characters).

I guess I just don't see why those 3 things were brought up as a negative to the series.

See, I'm one of the people that doesn't mind that it's the "same thing" every time. Call me stupid, call it a guilty pleasure, call it whatever you want to justify it, but I love the DW series. I like it's simplicity. I like being able to just pick up a controller and turn my brain off. Reminds me of being a kid.

And for the record, Titus, while I'm with you on the "not changing anything", I have to admit Space Vikings sound pretty badass.

@Titus: The reason a lot of people hated on DW6 was because while they changed several gameplay elements...they also removed several characters and made several remaining ones into clones of one another (moveset wise)

Coming off of Warriors Orochi, in which everybody had a unique weapon/moveset (save for Orochi/Orochi X) it felt like a HUGE step back.

@T - I never said the game was without flaws, I was just pointing out that it really isn't the same stale game that everyone makes it out to be. Levels change, characters are added, features added (create a warrior or the custom bodyguards were nice), and in the case of DW6 new movesets were created. I'm not here to say that DW games are the best thing ever, I just get a little tired/irritated at seeing comments about how every iteration is the same as the previous.

@Demon G Sides

I am knocking it because I have tried it. I still own Warriors Orochi 2, and both Dynasty Warriors Gundam games.

As much as I enjoy these games, I will be the first to admit the core gameplay hasn't changed in over a Decade.

Based on that, having any expectations of one of these games, to do ANYTHING, besides be a Dynasty Warriors game, is idiotic.

Yeah, LOL. Half the reason I enjoyed Godhand so much is because I knew it was pretty much completely inspired by Hokuto no Ken.

Whether this makes it to America or not, I will own it, as I have various other Hokuto no Ken games.

Adding to what "Come Get Me!" said,

the first line in God hand is already a parody of Hokuto No Ken/Fist of the Northstar with the "water! Water!" scene.

There's others as well, the most obvious one being the "100 hands" God Reel attack. ;D

The combat doesn't look fluid at all! It looks really clunky. I can't believe they released this game play footage. He misses grab moves, awkwardly controls, and the camera looks awkward also. Enemy attacks miss also.

There also doesn't appear to be any dodge or counter moves. You know, things that make combat fun.

This looks like a boring, awkward, frustrating brawler. Bad guys stand around while you mash "weak punch" "weak punch" "strong kick" , "weak punch" "weak punch" "strong punch, " "weak punch" "weak punch" "strong kick" , "weak punch" "weak punch" "strong punch, " , "weak punch" "weak punch" "strong kick" , "weak punch" "weak punch" "strong punch, "

Wow, hardly I've seen some much difference between a trailer and a gameplay video from the same game in terms of epicness, entertainment, music, voices and hype.
