Attach a nunchuk before you insert the wiimote.
It's an improvised tongue!

An interesting concept, but couldn't they have just made of kind of pocket on the back for the Wii-mote to go it, or something? There's something wrong with the way they put it in it's mouth.

Concidering the way that kid is smashing the thing around, I'd want it dead center of all that padding.

Stuffing it down the throat is much better than shoving it up the butt ;)

This could be a "that's what she said" but she may like it the second was as well.

I saw this trailer about a month ago, kinda late Joystiq, but I agree, it is a brilliant concept. I'd like to see it used in other games later on.

Don't get me wrong I think this is a cute product.

On the other hand if I was that kids age and saw him playing with that doll, he would be a runner up for an atomic wedgie.

It's intresting, I'll give it that.

Some years ago I'd pay over $100 for a game controlled by an action figure.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 needs this as a control scheme.

Actually, on 2nd thought, we need a game where we can control Peach, Daisy and Rosalina like this. I'd have to be an 18+ game though.

I see they've improved the wiimote insertion process to try and secure that ESRB E/PEGI 3+ rating, the early prototype involved sticking the wiimote up its backside.

Seems like a perfect reward to give to your kid after he/she completes a level. They could show off their achievements at Show & Tell.

1. Using Justice's "D.A.N.C.E." for the music.

+

2. Putting buttons / badges on the plushie that you can remove and wear your self.

Equals ways to appeal to hip younger parents ( all of them own Wii's already).

It's the kind of family that listens to NPR at the dinner table and raise their kids with a false sense of importance and entitlement.

I imagine this would require M+ for the responsiveness. But it is not shown in the video. Anybody care to clarify?

The video and their website and facebook are all very vague about the working product....It looks like they just anounced it and showed that concept video.

....I would think it hooks into something inside at least....how else would it even be able to be read by the sensor bar?

....If I was 7 I would be saving up all my money for this...

That's, uh... that's actually pretty brilliant if it works as shown. You've got a motion-sensing device jammed into a padded unit that's sort of generically cutesy, and then the animated antics happening on-screen sell the character and give the toy a sense of emotional expression. Throw in the badges for a check/reward system, sell mini-game packs every few months with more badges, issue sequels with new characters every year or so... it's a goldmine if handled properly. They'd have a cartoon and toys unrelated to gameplay inside of six months if this hits the market.

I've got a toddler niece who's fascinated by the concept of videogames, but who is also prone to throwing things on the floor when she gets frustrated. If I could cram the wiimote down the gullet of some plush freakshow to protect it, I'd be happy to buy this product for her.

I bet this is for Dante's Inferno. Probably "idolatry" or something.

And TheCoats, the Wii remote uses radio signals, specifically Bluetooth, for information. The sensor bar is only used to project IR light, which the Wii remote uses to determine the cursor's position.

I'm sure it's fake, but this really isn't dissimilar to what Nintendo was developing with that as-yet-unseen football controller accessory: http://www.siliconera.com/2009/08/24/nintendo-developing-a-squishy-football-controller/
