Arc System Works has 'full intention' of doing Guilty Gear on 360, PS3
Arc System Works has built a legacy of fighting games with its Guilty Gear franchise. Recently, the company introduced a new fighting franchise in BlazBlue, and even though it was very well-received -- it's almost at a 90 on Metacritic and we certainly enjoyed it -- fight fans want to know when they'll get more Guilty Gear. Well, based on comments made by series producer/creator Daisuke Ishiwatari to NowGamer, an Xbox 360 and PS3 installment may already be under consideration.
"I have the full intention to create Guilty Gear for PS3 and 360." Ishiwatari said. There was even some talk of a BlazBlue/Guilty Gear crossover, though Arc System Works business development director Tomo Ohno avoided any definitive commitments. "BlazBlue is a new thing, and there might be some crossover but at the moment we don't have any plans."

BlazBlue should be winning more Fighting Game of the Year awards.
Their net code is amazing. I can't even remember a match where I've experienced lag in BlazBlue.

Blazblue online actually threw me off. I got so used to the shortcut keys I was playing it kinda like smash bros with a quick flick doing the special moves.. Then I go online and find out that I'm actually not allowed to do it that way and everyone wants to call me a noob for not playing "correctly" all this time... So yeah, it lost points in my book for that.

........... What? HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Ghen @ Dec 30th 2009 9:14PM
Is there something wrong with playing through single player to learn the game and then going online and finding out everything I used was incorrect? I'll stick to SF4 and Tekken thanks.

BlazBlue was awesome.

Overture was one of the few 360 games I was interested in, really. But then the EU release got delayed by about a year. Oh, and Overture was, supposedly, rather mediocre.
Sega gaining the Guilty Gear license - through that Sammy alchemy-merger thingy - always seemed like the death of this series, so I'm kinda glad it's getting another run out. Let's just hope it's not another revision of Guilty Gear XX.
Having said that: EU release for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus? Rising Star? Anyone?
Jarlino @ Dec 30th 2009 3:47PM
The EU version has been released, but it was still a major pain to get my hands on.
And when that happened, even I, who had been hyping this game as a potential sleeper hit with some X factor that reviewers couldn't possibly understand, it felt...lackluster. :(
Thanks for reminding me that I still need to buy Accent Core for my new Wii though!
ZenTzen @ Dec 31st 2009 5:50AM
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus will be released in EU on 01-04-2010
Here is the publishers website with the release date

Of course they are going to have crossovers. Love the BlazBlue and the Guilty Gear, but Arc is just as bad as Capcom and SNK for milking a fighting game for all its worth. We've had how many iterations of X2?
I say bring it on and stop trying to play coy, we all know it's coming... And we welcome it!
Granger @ Dec 30th 2009 3:24PM
I swear that's the first time I've ever refereed to XX as X2... Odd I'd chose the time I'm celebrating my fandom of the series to do so =S
Teh Tr0LL @ Dec 30th 2009 3:32PM
learn to make the characters in 3D like street fighter or GTFO these 2D games are just cutting costs. this is 2009 not the 1990s
Granger @ Dec 30th 2009 3:44PM
Except BlazBlue and KOFXII look about a million times better than SFIV. Hell, SFIII looks about a million times better than SFIV. IV is a great fighting game, but 3D visuals didn't add anything to the gameplay, they just made it uglier than the competition (good thing it's still the most balanced fighter on the market, shame it didn't use HD Remix's matchmaking though).
KaiserCX @ Dec 30th 2009 4:39PM
Shhhh Granger... You're feeding the ugly troll. Oh crap, so am I! I'm getting outta here before he awakes!
Storm Eagle [Resident Capcom Megafan] @ Dec 30th 2009 3:36PM
BlazBlue=One of the best fighting games I've ever played.
A Guilty Gear/BlazBlue crossover would be AMAZING. Make it happen!
Jarlino @ Dec 30th 2009 3:48PM
Hey Hey, I could be mistaken, but isn't the Guilty Gear universe mentioned in Blazblue already?
I believe that there was a cutscene about Tager being "Sturdy", unlike a certain ninja, and showed Chipp Zanuff?
Of course, being in the EU and an Xbox player, I didn't have the chance to confirm this yet, so I could be talking from my ass....
fat_bunnies @ Dec 30th 2009 4:21PM
2D doesn't cut cost it actually costs more because you have to hand animate each charecter frame by frame
-Vexx- @ Dec 30th 2009 4:37PM
Your damn right you guys are making a new Guilty Gear
rufotattoo @ Dec 30th 2009 6:00PM
alright..cuz blazeblu sucks...even if they port guity gear xx acent core plus- make it like HD- ...
well they usually recycle the frames-
captainprotonx @ Dec 30th 2009 8:16PM
In light of the naming conventions of past iterations, I propose the following names:
Guilty Gear Impression Starlight X Sensation!
New Guilty Gear (fill in a Japanese word here)
GG: Night dancing of the M.I.M.E. Galaxy Rave.
Discuss.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Dec 30th 2009 9:00PM
Heck Yeah, Blazblue is nothing compared to Guilty Gear.
Crayfish @ Dec 30th 2009 11:13PM
I thought there was some politics as to why they couldn't do any more Guilty Gear and started up Blazblue instead?
Ah well, I guess if ArcSys says it's all gravy, then who am I to question them. Guilty Gear in HD I'll snatch up in jiffy
That_Guy436 @ Dec 30th 2009 11:21PM
That is awesome news. Me and my friends loved Guilty Gear X2 for the PS2 and it'll look awesome in hd graphics just like Blazeblue.
Kenoji (aka Neo Asuma) @ Dec 31st 2009 12:49AM
I seriously hope they bring GG back. The fast & frantic fighting was awesome, and the story was pretty interesting. I loved X2 and Accent Core.
nerdydesi (Steam: nerdydesi) @ Jan 1st 2010 7:16AM
I hope it'll also come to the PC, just as BlazBlue is coming/came to PC, thanks.
That is my one-track mind Tmac, suck it!
