Joystiq highlights a game of the year 2009

Here it is, folks: The moment you've all been waiting for. Team Joystiq has been scouring the list of games that came out in 2009, attempting to pick the best of the best, then present them to our readership in an enumerated fashion. Unfortunately, we got bored with that, and instead started playing 2009: The Game, which is, in fact, a game of the year 2009. We apologize for the misleading headline.

It's more or less an "avoid-these-things-lest-you-die" game flash game which takes quick, topical jabs at the year's low points. However, it's a great reminder of some of the ridiculous shenanigans we had to put up with this year. Like, remember Swine Flu? Hoo boy.

But that's just the point. Downloadable games can be on par with Disk based games in enjoyment. Sure, they may be smaller and shorter then disk based games, but that doesn't mean they're any less fun. They also don't need to be OMG ACTION every moment to be enjoyable either. Many downloadable games also have this aura of pride around them that many, but not all, disk based games don't seem to have anymore. Just so long as they're fun and well done, they should be at least in the running for GOTY as well.

Then again, I'm just a guy from the platforming era of games who believes in anti-realism in gaming... so what do I know.

Okay, Candle lost all of my respect the minute he claimed that Glen Beck was lower than the Plane Bomber during Christmas.

Keep the politics out of this, this site is way too one-sided.

More accepted? There was only one person who was making that claim, in fact I don't think he even made that claim in the first place.

And for that matter, I'm done here in this post. Tired of dealing with the morons and children who hear their dad talk and just absorb what he says without questioning the legitimacy of said statement. (Insert Dad with Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, O'reilly, Hannity).
