I'm flying back to my apartment on Saturday, so this week's going to be a bit strange.

Until the flight, it'll be all about the PC, since I've gone kind of crazy with deals on steam. I'll probably stick to Torchlight (which I've beaten but I feel like playing it more), and I may try Osmos again. I had some trouble getting into it, which is a bit surprising, since the game it reminds me most of is flOw and I really liked flow.

On the plane I'll probably play a lot of Patapon 2. Maybe some Lumines.

Once I get back, I have a copy of Arkham Asylum that I've been dying to play since Christmas.

Well, nothing besides OoT & LttP until thursday. that's when I get my PS3

Anyone have some recommendations? I already have Rock Band, GTA IV, MGS4, and Bioshock. I can only get one game.

Technically its not a new decade since there was never a year zero the first decade ever would've gone year 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10: this decade will go as 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010, the next decade will start with 2011

No 2000 would be part of the last decade...a decade is 10 years, hence:

1-10 AD first decade...
11-20 AD second decade...
21-30 AD third decade...
.
.
.
91-100 AD tenth decade and end of 1st century...
.
.
.
1991-2000 AD 200th decade and end of 20th century...
2001-2010 AD 201st decade

See the pattern there...:)

Well, Puyo Puyo's my favorite puzzle game, tying with Tetris. The only annoying thing is how insane some of the CPU players are. Man, those combos are crazy!


Oh, and I also got MGS: The Twin Snakes, but I'm letting my friend borrow it. He hasn't played through 1 yet, but he hated the PS1 graphics from the flashback in 4, so he didn't bother with it. So while I play through the PS1 version, he's playing through the GCN version.

I'm playing through my Christmas gifts too. From my loved ones, and myself (Thank you steam). Right now though I'm hooked on Fallout 3. My fiance got it for me for Christmas from bestbuy.com over black friday for just 20 bucks. So it will mostly be that over the weekend with some spirit tracks here and there.

Also, Xav has a good idea. Playing through the Splinter Cells again sounds fun. I'll have to save it for later though.

Chaos Theory for sure, hands down. I would buy it again but if your pre-order Conviction at JB you get a voucher to download it on Xbox Originals. Needless to say I am doing that.

I'll be playing through Valkyria Chronicles and Star Wars: KOTOR. In fact, I've been buying up quite a few original XBOX games of late. I just nabbed Red Dead Revolver, Genma Onimusha, Godzilla: Save the Earth, and Shenmue 2 for about $20 or so at an indie used game store near me. What's awesome is that they were pretty much brand new when I got them. I love finding older games on the cheap when I'm out and about. Last weak I managed to get Yakuza 1 & 2 for $35 brand new at an FYE near me.

Maybe it's just me, but I find that I'm more into the older games than the newer ones. I think KOTOR is way better than Mass Effect, if for no other reason than it being nearly twice as long without any DLC to speak of. I know that the graphics aren't nearly as good, but it's the gameplay that really draws me in. Mass Effect felt too much like a really good Gears of War clone with RPG elements thrown in, but KOTOR manages to feel fresher simply because a lot of what is used in ME is found in KOTOR. I guess that's the reason why I really like Dragon Age despite the graphics feeling as if they're about 6 or 7 years out of date.

Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Years and I'll see you on the other side in Arthur C. Clark's '2010: Odyssey Two'.

KotOR is one of the most amazing games ever. I logged WAY too many playthroughs on it. The PC version looks a lot better. It upscales nicely on the 360, but all the cutscenes have framerate issues, the sound cuts in and out, and the combat lags, so it's best to stick on the Xbox.

I've been picking up a ton of PS2 and Xbox titles recently as well, all dirt cheap.

Much as I hate to pick any amount of favorites, KOTOR would definitely be at the top no matter how long the list is. Also, when griping out Dragon Age's graphics, keep in mind that this was top of the line 5 years ago http://www.igniq.com/reviews/FarCry01.jpg

I'll be playing Final Fantasy VI. This game used to piss me off back when I was younger, I had to pay $70 for this game (my parents refused to buy my the game, so I had to save some money for it), I always got confused in the game (story and where to go next), I sucked at boss battles, and my characters would die all the time.

But now I've decided to play this game again after 15 or 16 years, because from what I've heard it's the best Final Fantasy game ever. I hope I'm much better at the game, though it was my first RPG and RPGs were not my type back when I was younger.

Oh I might as well play some MW2 and Team Fortress 2. Add me on Xbox Live, my Gamertag is InfiniteMovie.

Dude, I remember paying $79.99 + tax and having to mow so many goddamn yards for that game that I began to suspect that it might not actually be worth it in the end. Boy was I wrong, but hey, kids are stupid.

Dragon Age and Symphony of the Night will probably take most of my attention until MW2 sings its siren song. I'll probably play some N.O.V.A. or Spirit Tracks at work if I get some time and I'm gonna try to finish World 9 on NSMB Wii.

I'll be going through all my wii games, particularly mario galaxy. It's fun and all, but it's not this life changing game of the generation experience everyone was talking about. It feels like an updated Mario 64 to be honest.

I don't know whether it's because I have 14 wii games to play, but I have a hard time playing any of them for over an hour without getting bored. Most of them are decent games and all, they just lack the level of fun I get out of my 360/ps3 games. I don't know how you wii only owners do it.

tmac, I have the same problem with Galaxy. I still haven't finished it. I'm a huge Mario fan, but every time I go to play it, I end up playing something else. I had no problem playing Sunshine start to finish, and I'm a few levels into New SMBW and am liking that too.

Anyway, I'll be playing Trine and New SMBW

Wow, Joystiq...I'd been considering my top five games of the decade all day...guess we think alike, eh? I'll save them till next week.

This weekend, I'm playing Final Fantasy X (shut up, it was my first one and I love it!), Half-Life (PS2 or PC), The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Resident Evil 4 (GC), Luigi's Mansion, and I'll pop Pokemon Red into the Super Game Boy for a while.

I would play FF VIII...but I just found the combat so disappointing. It was like the Passive Active Time Battle System.

It would take me about a week to decide my top 5 games of the decade. So many great games.

Once you start playing Pokemon Red, you'll get addicted to that game and you'll be playing that game all day (happens to me all the time).

What the fuck, Cheezie? Did you even have a PS2? FFX was one of the best games on the PS2, you have to play that game.

Bradwart, I'm sure you'd enjoy Pokemon Red much more if you had played it back in 96 or 97 (I forget, hehe), on the GameBoy. I still like to play the game, but I don't enjoy it as much anymore. The remake, Pokemon FireRed, is really good though.

Sanders, I was in college during the late fifth generation (PS1, N64, Saturn) and most of the sixth gen (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube). I had a shitty part time job and had a shitload of studying to do. I had little money and time, so I couldn't play many games.

I knew Final Fantasy X was a long game and I just didn't have time to play it, so I forgot the game time after time. I played many PS2 games, but I still need to play Final Fantasy X.

Final Fantasty X is amazing. Easily my favorite game ever and it was also the first Final Fantasy I played. Played through it like 5 times already and it never gets old. Last time I played it was without the Sphere Grid and I actually managed to beat it, was pretty challenging.
