If you're not already directing your eyeballs to our PC sister site Big Download for all your PC gaming news, well ... why not? Hmmm? That sounds like a personal problem, if you ask us. Anyway, they've recently posted their rundown of 2009's best PC games (as well as writing up a whole mess on what you can expect from 2010), and we figured we'd give you a heads up.
Looking for a list of vaporware titles from this year? They've got you covered. How about the top PC games of the past decade? Done. Top 10 consoles games that should be on PC? You betcha! Lessons on how to speak in Na'vi? Okay, not so much. They've gotta draw the line somewhere, right?

C'mon, put a wee bit of effort into trolling, dood.
Er, I mean... Big Download does rock (PC gaming, woo). I'm always saddened to see their lack of comments.

Their community also doesn't seem as big. Wonder where all the japanese commenters are.

Joystiq Japan is still kind of in a "beta," if you will. We're working on it!

That list was crap. Stuff like COD4 and Allied Assault get into it but real gems like STALKER and Baldur's Gate 2 get ignored.
Good job on NOLF and Beyond Good and Evil though. I love those games, but way too low on the list. Needs to get higher.

I don't know about game of the decade, but I'll give it moneymaker of the decade.
It prints money, and then uses that money to breed more money. Didn't they have ten million subscribers at one point? That's ten million people paying $15/mo to keep playing a game they already payed for. Every month. Getting $150 million a month from the same players without adding any content is pretty fucking impressive.
Or sad.

I'm glad Sins of a Solar Empire made the list, as well as some older, nichey titles like No One Lives Forever and Beyond Good and Evil.
Pity Starcraft II couldn't make it...

Warcraft was the "biggest" PC game (making tons of money and being incredibly popular would satisfy "biggest" in one definition I guess) and therefore they reasoned that it immediately implied that it was the "best" game of the decade, and entitling it place number one on the list... at least that's as far as I could figure out from their description.

Just noticed that a screenshot from the Half-Life 2 Beta was used to represent it, was that intentional? The zombies look all wrong. Also, the absense of Portal is astounding. Going by memes spawned alone, it should be pretty close to the top.

Without adding any content? Are you crazy?
You do understand we get content patches alot, right? We have had three content patches since the last expansion came out. And 4 major content patches for the previous expansion.
Also, not everyone pays $15 a month. Gamers in China (when the servers were actually up) paid by the hour, but the rate was so low, that it was similiar to the monthly rate.

And I agree on the Big Download not getting enuf comments. But the editors need to do some fact-checking. I see errors in their games lists. They did a look back on the original Diablo, and listed it's releases date as 2000. That was when Diablo 2 was released, not Diablo 1. I emailed them, and they changed it.
Also, their tags ruin any lists they do. "Click here to see the list of top games for whatever", and then right underneath it, the tags list every game.

@Drakkenfyre.
I apologize. Not being a WoW player, I didn't know about content patches. I was under the impression that whenever they made new content, it was in the form of expansions that you had to buy in addition to your monthly fee and original game purchase. Regardless, it's still a very impressive sum of money compared to the profits other games receive.
