LOL, I liked the movie. Much better than District 9 which was insanely overrated in the long run.

But man that is a lame reasoning. I think he should have just taken the safe route and said her smoking was due to stress from the work or something.

Hey, fuck you.

It takes a lot of work to get off my chair to go downstairs and grab another pop. Those stairs are an unrelenting bitch.

Ew. I never found her hot. Not in the movies from the '80s and not now.

I can barely watch Ghostbusters because of her and the same reason I can barely watch The Dark Knight because of Maggie Gyllenhaal. Blegh.

It's just my way of being an arsehole conformist and having to hate one to like the other.

District 9 really has no place in this conversation, I shouldn't have brought it up really.

James Cameron needs to shut the hell up. Avatar was a heavy handed piece of leftist propganda and now he's dumping on smokers and video game enthusiasts? There's a reason he wasn't making movies between this and Titanic, because the man has run out of original ideas.

Im with Tobias on this one. Just because some of you loved the movie, doesnt make what Tobias said wrong. Its okay for you to like the visuals of Avatar, and dislike Cameron. Really, it is.

He's a creative professional and/or artist, whatever you want to call it. Expecting people working in the creative field to put out work and subsequently not have an opinion or further commentary as to its message is pretty gong show, fellas.

How can you hate him? Did he touch you inappropriately or something?

Pff you gotta watch it like you watch Star Wars, don't take the story so seriously. People see it for it for the visuals and entertainment not for Cameron's political cheap shots.

Well, the watchdog groups won't give a frak why she's smoking, they'll just make a giant hoo-ha about it because she's smoking in the first place because it's "drug use" (which it is, but it's not a giant deal compared to weed, speed, etc.)

Exactly. (Though I've been using "Dances With Smurves").

The only thing I found at all interesting, especially considering Sigourney's presence, was the fact that the film had many echoes/parallels to "Aliens".

Hey, Dances With Wolves did win 7 Academy Awards. It's no Titanic, but that's more nominations than Avatar...

LOL Okay brah. I never knew this place was full of such esteemed film critics. Avatar's simple storyline must have been too poor for you to enjoy.

I just find it hilarious that this film is just getting the shit kicked out of it by internet wise-asses just because it's insanely popular.

Yet some POS like JJ Abrams Star Trek gets a free pass for having a much worse script behind it.

Don't lose your cool brah, I've got a frat party to go to and chill with some bros with some brewskies.

The new Star Trek sucked ass
"Hey Im from the future and in the future I was friend with you even though you hate me now, so now you two should become friends and forget your ordeals only because Im from the future"
Also all the stupid close to dead scenes they put the main character in, everyone knows he isnt going to die, or any of the cast, overall it was boring as hell

in regard to your title, I thought you should know that as soon as I saw Neytiri, I thought, "Man, furries are gonna have a FIELD DAY with this movie!" ;)

I'll admit that I think she's hot too and now I'm slightly confused as well...

That plot was okay. The visuals, amazing. Visually it was the greatest movie I've ever seen. Do not see it in 2D. 3D is a must.

Seen it twice in 3d, it really is amazing. I dont get whats with all the hatin.

So what if the story is like Dances with Wolves. I beleive theres some Russian man that reduced every Hollywood film ever down into 5 storylines. (Media A-Level FTW)

The idea of a film is to be entertaining, if that means there has to be a baddy, a goody, a cliche romance and someone swapping sides, then so be it!

Wait wait wait. So is he also criticizing his main character, who also spends almost all of his time in his Avatar body? If he was trying to get this across in his movie, he failed spectacularly.

Hold up, you could barely watch Dark Knight because Maggie Gyllenhall doesn't make your teeter totter? But Christian Bale's terrible Batman voice was fine? Maybe Bale floats your boat instead, seeing as how looks>acting ability in your opinion.

Cameron is an ass. I dont like his political views and have never been a big fan of his movies. Avatar, to me looks great. The visual aspect of it is amazing. But Cameron had little to do with creating that. Many others had a lot of work in creating the visuals of this movie, not Cameron. As far as everything else about Avatar, it was nothing special. The story and such is forgettable.

Another reason to hate Cameron is how he treated a recent autograph seeker. For a billionaire to not take 5 seconds to sign something and then curse at a fan, thats pretty pathetic. Cameron on all accounts, can suck it.

I think Bale is fucking awesome as Batman and his deep gruffy voice. And Maggie's acting is perfectly fine. But, man, I'm not trying to come off as superficial too much and she probably did look her best in The Dark Knight (makeup must of gone overtime... probably a lil' CG, too) but I just don't find her attractive in the least. Period.

Remember Avatar is a trilogy, the first was just an introduction to the world with a simple story( i dont get the poor written jab at it) just like the first Terminator.

I enjoyed it very much
