Yay.

And I'm not really raging anymore at the 3-game release thing because from what I understand from everything I've read the other 2 will be treated at expansion pack pricing.

So, fuck you, Bobby Kotick. I bet that shit is giving you an aneurysm and keeping you from maintaing an erection and your wife is fucking the 7 foot monste rof a pool man IN FRONT OF YOU all because you can't force Blizzard to bend to your evil ways cause 1) It's Activision BLIZZARD and 2) Rob fucking Pardo is on the company board hahaha you fucking incarnate of Satan holy fuck you are evil EVILLL

They could delay it again.

As I've said, Kotick's number one priority is the stockholders. His job depends on keeping them happy. Happy stockholders=happy Kotick.

Better than not being able to play as the Protoss at all in the first installment, I'd say.

The games work independent of each other. You can play as the Protoss, as well as the Zerg, but only in single-player skirmishes or online play. Each box has its own specific campaign towards a single race and from what I understand, they're longer than all three campaigns (in the original games) combined.

I'd still be pretty pissed paying $90 or even more for all three games though.

@Ignatius: Pardon me, I did not clarify that I was referring to the campaign missions only. I am aware that all three races are accessible outside of the "Wings of Liberty" story scenarios.

Though I love StarCraft (probably not as much as some Korean players do), I agree with you that it'd be hard to part with that amount of money for all three installments of this chapter of the saga.

I like that they're adding in some Protoss action. It would be nice if they did Zerg as well, they were always my favorite to play as. I think I'll wait until the inevitable Battle Chest with all 3 for $20. (So I'll be playing SCII in a decade if I'm lucky)

On an iPod Touch, using Mobile Safari, use "i.joystiq.com"

Since we've got TUAW and Engadget apps, Joystiq should be soon.

Is the second game the Protoss campaign? If so I imagine it'll be a small scenario to lead you into the story of that when it gets released in 2015

Makes sense. The Terran campaign features Jim Raynor, and he's allied with Zeratul and Artanis. So it makes sense that they'd have some role in the Terran campaign.

Hey, not ALL units. It's just a test drive to make you buy the expansions.

So with no release date/year in sight, I still don't get why it's being split in 3 to get it out sooner. If splitting it in 3 is supposed to get it out quicker, I want a release date/year. Otherwise if I'm stuck with a vague ballpark year range, I'd rather just wait a bit longer for the full, non-split package.

I'll recant my objections if the expansions are priced at $20-$30 though. But if the expansions are a full $40, as much as the base game, like WoW does with its expansions, my objections will stand. Sure I could vote with my wallet by not buying the game, but ActiBlizzard doesn't get a notice on why I didn't buy it when I don't buy it. ActiBlizz will only see the people who bought it, and use that to boost their own egos and keep doing exactly what they're already doing.

I really can't bring myself to care about Starcraft anymore. I was in middleschool when I was having all out alien wars with my friends in the original, but by the time the third installment comes out I'll probably be 30. Half a lifetime is too long.

You'll be lucky if you get a release date before you retire. Everyone knows the only way to play SC2 is to freeze yourself, that is the ONLY way you'll live long enough to see the game released, assuming of course it is not canceled like Starcraft ghost recon.
