I tried to play it this morning, but apparently they're having server trouble so I couldn't get in.

You're lucky if you get 4 people on your team trying to complete an objective in MW2.
I can't imagine having over 100 people on your team just camping and waiting for the 3 people actually playing the game to run by.

True, but you also get exp bonuses for acting as a team. If you don't act as a team/squad in MAG, you are going to have a miserable time. Going commando against a few enemies is one thing, but going against 100+ enemies is a completely different story. If you don't stick with your squad and play your role, you are going to die constantly.

Looking forward to it. I only hope people have headsets, though, as I'm afraid the scale of this game almost requires it.

It really does need headsets. I don't have one. I've noticed that because I tend to play slightly above average, the elite players sometimes like me and talk to me. They issue orders or ask me to help them. The bad thing is that I can't confirm anything or say "my bad, i couldn't cover you because some douche killed me" so that they don't think i'm ignoring them.

Yeah, that's probably going to be a major problem with this game is the inclusion and importance of headsets. I just got a gaming headset today (Tritton AX 180) and it is great and not too expensive, but a lot of people will not pay this type of money on a gaming headset.

I think I paid $55-60 for it on eBay, so it's a bit more expensive here.

I have not been able to get on here on the East coast. It's been bogged down since it opened I guess. I tried at 2:30 and 3 but it never worked. The MAG blog says that they are experiencing server issues so I guess it's pretty popular right now.

It's a fun game. Just know that it's good. It's a bit of waste of time downloading this but then only playing until the 10th though.
The really cool thing about it is that in its barest essence, it's a little bit like Fat Princess in that you can be involved in a large variety of objectives that you help your team aside from the primaries.
I had alot of fun when I snuck into the enemy's side outpost and was able to capture it, then went on a machine gun rampage killing a bunch of guys coming out of spawn. And then when they tried to take it back, I was able to signal for help so that they couldn't reclaim it for the entire round...it was gratifying seeing people on my team rush over to my aid.

Is this beta really worth the update ? its huge i was like you fucing kidding me when i saw it pop up its bigger than the game itself!
Posted: Jan 4th 2010 7:11PM Kodros said
Is it a new update? They had the download up on the PSN store for a few weeks now so that you could download it early. Did you do that or wait until this morning to grab it?
The download from the PSN store is basically just a launcher that hooks you up to their servers. Probably so that they don't have to pay Sony money per GB downloaded.

servers have been pretty good the past few hours, I must say i love this game, been in since the gamestop beta, can not wait for it to come out!
its a big download but if you would even think of buying it than its worth the time to save the money untill your sure you like the game.

p.s. if your having issues logging in, keep this in mind, from Zipper:
"if you get a 10:4 issue when trying to log on, then keep trying -- you have a about a 1 in 4 chance to connect to the lobby when that happens"

Was playing this for a good few months prior to xmas, and I have to admit, its fun. But you HAVE to work as a team. If you don't ; its pointless.
So, when the game is released, you are going to have to rely on complete strangers to get the task done, which in this day and age, everyone simply wants to be John Rambo taking on the Russian Army by his lonesome.
Not too mention MW2 is much more fun ;)
