Agreed that the concept sounds awesome, but the execution has been awful. I actually think The Simpsons Game did a better job in regards to satirizing video game cliches.

Man they're just going to keep cramming this Matt Hazard nonsense down our gullet until we accept it.

The full retail wasn't worth $15, I can't see how an XBLA/PSN game of the same name could be worth $15.

$15? Eww... your reputation doesn't allow you to charge so much... I guess I'll play the demo and wait for it to go 60% off in December 2010...

$5.99 seems to be the sweet spot for a title such as this.

I think you guys are missing the point. I think this is going to be like how Bionic Commando Rearmed XBLA was awesome but Bionic Commando retail was bad. I think Matt Hazard XBLA has a very good chance of being truly good. I guess we'll all wait to see how the demo plays out, but I'm actually quite hopeful. Let's at least give this a chance before condemning it.

Bionic Commando retail was good, it just started out really slow and had some issues. I can't say that I usually stick with games that pick up in the second half, since my opinion is that if a game doesn't grab your interest in the beginning, it's not doing something right... but I stuck with this one, and the game gets REALLY fun, right about when you get to that airplane/helicopter boss. Game's really fun after that.

That, and the swinging wasn't easy. It was difficult even for me at times, right up to the end, I was still falling in the water and drowning, and I'm usually wicked boss at games with hook shots. ^_^

I'd say I hope it's good, but then that's another game that I feel like I gotta buy XD

Seriously though, The Wolfenstein level in the first Matt Hazard game made me want to buy it, but then I heard so many terrible things about it that I backed off. I still want to buy it, but it's still like $17 used, so I'm still waiting. I'll pay ten bucks just to see how bad it is for myself.

I for one really enjoyed Matt Hazard: Eat Lead. It was a worthwhile rental. I thought it was a clever parody of video games and Will Arnett did a fantastic job as the voice of Matt Hazard. So I most definitely would like to play this XBLA/PSN game.

But...
I will not pay $15 for it (actually works out to about $18 here in Canada on XBLA, but still $15 on PSN since Sony doesn't intentially rip off Canadian consumers with a stupid point system where Canadian point cards have (200) less points then American point cards).

I will wait til this game sees a sale/price drop - which appears to hit most arcade games/PSN games at some point. I hope more consumers follow my lead and wait for games to hit sales and price drops... that's the only way we're going to lower these games prices!

Finally, someone who liked it! I'm willing to bet that nobofy liked it becaude there are so many blockbusters to play that there's no reason to put money into a game like this. But I enjoy a good parody, an I never stopped enjoying the more old school run n gun compared to the new cover + health regen... So maybe I'd like it too. Everyones' complaints seemed to be that the gameplay was generic... while I'm over here cursing Doom 3 for not having color coded doors an keys!

I can make a pretty good case for having coined this name "Bloodbath & Beyond". I came up with it for a fantasy football team name and googled it at the time. 0 results. Now there are lots.
