$40 seems like an awful lot for an expansion pack, but what do I know? Hopefully its somewhat decent and has a more than a few hours of content

Nice to see bioware giving a lot of DLC support, much better than ME. I will end up saving my money for DA and ME2 DLC for a long time

Just a little correction on the price. If you look at the gamestop preorder page for the game, it shows that the PC version will be $30 and the console version will be $40. Sorry to all the folks playing on console, but that seems a lot more reasonable to me as a PC player.

That box art is pretty sweet, i just hope it doesn't mean the next archdemon is a spider : (
I'm also wondering if they new level cap, items and all that will apply to the regular game as well, guess we'll find out

Put it on Steam and I'll buy it, don't put it on Steam and I won't.
I refuse to go back to boxes! Unless it's Diablo

'the ability to "re-spec" attributes'

I hope that means I can give back the potion abilities I thought I'd need and get more useful ones. If that becomes part of the whole system, rather than just during the expansion stuff, I'll get around to my next replay sooner than I expected...

$40 hmm. If there isn't at least 30 hours of gameplay with that price, I don't think it's worth the price of admission. We're getting to new game price territory and there are just a number of other games that can give a much better game to price ratio.

I'll pay the $40 price tag for a WoW expansion since you get a gargantuan amount of game play hours. This is unlike the Fallout 3 expansions where five at $10 a pop, you ended up re buying the game to get all of the content, but it was only a fraction of the original. This is a definite want for me, but too high of a price for a preorder.

As much as I feel sorry for the console people, 30 bucks for an expansion is pretty normal really for the PC. Judging by the fact that we'll get some new enemies, new party members, ect. It seems Bioware will keep their tradition of creating massive expansions since the days of Baldur's Gate.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this include a new class and origin story? Thought I heard that somewhere. Also heard it should take somewhere around 15 hrs to beat. Still, think it'd be worth $40 for all that. And knowing how different things ended up between different playthroughs of the original, this should have quite some replayability. Plus new equipment!!!! Finally!

Dragon Age was done a long time before it hit stores in November. The last 3 or so months of development was getting it working right on consoles. So actual content and features were done in June/July. So while the console team worked on finishing the PS3/360 versions, the content team worked on some small DLCs and a big expansion.

I'd rather this go the $20 route that the GTA Episodes went. I've NEVER paid $40 for an expansion, on PC or consoles. I love Dragon Age, but this is far too much. I'll wait until it's $20 or less, which I bet won't be long. See ya in a month after release on Amazon!

Why couldn't they do this with KOTOR II? At least release a proper expansion if not a full game showing what happened to Revan and the Exile.

And before anyone makes a comment on it, "The Old Republic", as much as I'm looking forward to it, is not likely to answer those questions. At least not directly.

I just can't say enough good things about this game. Some people don't like listening to all the back stories and delving into the characters (which I seem to spend a good bit of time on) but I am having a blast and I can't wait for this expansion. I'm still working my way through it for my first time (Human: Mage: Magi) but it's really great fun! I think I'm in love with Shale. He just cracks me up!
