Slaz, in CoD4 it was "Our UAV is online!". May have changed in MW2.

In FPS games, I always turn down/off the music. It's fine in cut scenes, but while playing, I don't need music to tell me that this is the suspenseful part, just like I don't need a laugh track in TV to tell me when to laugh.

ODST and MW2 don't have a music option and it bugged the hell out of me that I couldn't do anything about it.

MW1 I play on my PC and at least in multi I am able to remove the annoying pressure music.

The music in both ODST and MW2 is awesome, so why are you complaining?

To each his own. While awesome to you, I found it over the top, brash, unnecessary and annoying, however the quality of the soundtrack is not the issue.

In first person games, where player immersion is more easily attainable, why force a movie style soundtrack on the player?

I simply want the option to make the game more immersive, by not listening to it.

I didn't think much of the soundtrack personally. I mean it was okay, but it just came off as a bunch of tracks they had leftover and didn't use in The Rock.

Felt kinda redundant and phoned in.

Those of us who consider the PS3 our system of choice won't be able to play the music while in game, unfortunately.

When is Cross game music capability coming? When?

Yes, but just like YouTube uploading it's up to the devs to put it in. A large amount of games supports it though. All the pixeljunk games, warhawk, KZ2, MW2 (I
think), most PSN games, just off the top of my head.

You mean like playing your own albums from your HDD when playing a game? Yeah, its already there. Just tap the PS button and select it (what you have on your HDD). However not many games support it, last I checked only a few exclusive titles supported it. I would think more titles would support it since it was released about 1 or two years ago (was released with ingame XMB update) but since Sony didn't make it mandatory like Trophies I guess none of the devs really cared.

On the PS3 music cuts out if you try nearly any option on the dashboard. The only one that doesn't cut off your music is really the browser.

EVEN the trophy screen cuts the music.

Why would you wanted to play music in-game? In MW2, sound is one of the most critical elements to playing well. It'd be hard to hear someone's footsteps as their creeping up behind you if you were jamming to this soundtrack

216, in all (as far as I know) games it just replaces the games music, the sound effects stay in tact.

Steam/steamapps/common/call of duty modern warfare 2/main

Folders 19-21 for music. Open with IZArc or adaptive compressed file archive viewer of your choice. MP3 format.

I liked the MW2 music, and I've always liked Battlefield's five-beat theme. Come to think of it, did they ever release a compilation of the older Battlefield games' music?
