And here we thought Tetris DS was the best blend of the Russian puzzler and Nintendo's classic platforming game Super Mario Bros., but Tuper Tario Tros. is a quite imaginative combination of the two. In fact, we haven't seen Tetris go so well with something since we were introduced to the conflict resolution capabilities of Tresling.
Already the culprit behind a sharp downturn in Joystiq productivity today, we now offer it to you. Just, uh, don't play it as much as we did. We can get away with it since, y'know, it's kinda our job.

I think it would be better if one player was Tetris and the other player was Mario. Just my opinion though.

Well if you have a 360 controller you can use with Windows, or if you have a PS3 controller, then you can use one of those. For the PS3 controller look up MotionInJoy I believe it was. Use those drivers to get it to show up as a joystick.
The next step (which should work with both controllers, but I only tested with a PS3 controller) is to download the program Joystick 2 Mouse. Using that you can make your console controller act as a keyboard key, with modifier keys for multiple levels of inputs.
So the d-pad can be the arrows, and X can be jump, and you could hit L1 or R1 to switch between game modes. You could also hold R2 and it would completely change all your buttons to other keys of your choosing. Neat stuff.

you do realize they make controllers for PCs right? Even ones with keyboard emulation.

I actually played this the other day, the new spin on old gaming is awesome, I would pay $3 for a full release.

Imagine if you had the left analog stick controlling mario, and the left trigger to jump. You could use the right analog stick to control the tetris pieces and spin them with the right trigger. (Thinking classic controller) It would be awesome.

The title sounds almost like the creator has a lisp.

it's cute and clever, but at this stage, the novelty wears off quickly. it's slow, nothing much happens, and there's way more mario than tetris here. as far as i can see, you stack blocks purely for mario's benefit, which is disappointing. you could keep trying, i guess, until nintendo shuts you down cold. better still, take the side-scrolling construction idea, and start again with characters of your own creation. that might go somewhere.

Sega could make Sonic Columns
OR
Sonic 2 Columns
OR
Sonic 3 Columns
OR
Sonic & Knuckles & Columns
OR
.........
which I'm sure will show up as single releases and then again 10 years from now together on a single disc.

Sonic & Columns Adventure 2 was good, but what were they thinking with Sonic & Columns 2006?

I don't see how it's too slow either. It ran for me with no frame skipping, very impressive. As for the scroll, you can bring the blocks down faster like in Tetris and you can scroll the screen to the right faster as well.
That's maybe the best freeware game I've played.

you don't have to fill the castle, only the outline of the castle. BUUUUUUUUUT you do get more points for getting what the game calls a "perfect" castle
