Not a bad price for built in motionplus. Still, I already have 4 wiimotes. Cheaper for me to just buy the attachment. Thanks anyway Nyko.

I apologize the Samuel Vimes for my comment. I do occasionally get annoyed by those who just slip in anedotes about themselves for little reason. But yes, I do apologize.

Are you satifisfied, Bradwart? I have no idea why you bothered responding to me unless you needed yet ANOTHER reason to post. Or show that I don't follow Joystiq as well as you do as I'm not aware of your infamous, legendary namechange.

Well, you win. *Double thumbs up*

I'll remember to never mention owning a product when the article is about a similar product, just to save you annoyance.

And don't rag on Brad. You are contradicting yourself.

Dunno, perhaps he doesn't care for reputation on Joystiq. Not everyone does.

Anyways, for a third-party product, I wouldn't want to spend $40. I go $20 max for anything third-party (And that's usually for cables and such).

$40 isn't bad though considering for a 3rd party device it is good quality, plus motionplus built in. You'd be spending $60 for an official wiimote and motionplus adapter. 30% savings isn't half bad.

831 dont take shit from them. Joystiq doesn't have any rules, its not some club with handshakes and a pecking order. And Spamwart is nothing but a crying baby on an airplane, you cant silence it even though all you want to do is shake the shit out of it. His omnipresence vexes me. He reminds me of when Seven showed up on Married with Children. Made me stop watching the show.

I was wondering when they were going to update the MediaHub for the Slim.

Kinda nice that it includes a remote now.

Though, if the standard PS3 doesn't need an Intercooler, I highly doubt the new model needs one.

Burned through two EX's and one TS before I gave up. Every one of them eventually had the fans misalign and make too much noise.

It's a moot point with the new consoles, anyway.

I may pick one up. It's a PITA to have to keep removing the WM+ when wanting to play games that require you to hold the Wiimote sideways. It's simply too long with the WM+ attached to play comfortably that way. Really, the Wiimote design is terrible and it's worse with the WM+ attached.

I can't speak for a lot of other Nyko products but their Wii Wand is actually very well constructed and performs on par with a standard wiimote.

The only worthy third-party pad was the SNES Ascii pad. Though that may have been licensed by Nintendo?

Hey now, the FightPads for the 360 are pretty good, being more or less Saturn controllers. They also have one important thing going for them, and that is a D-Pad that doesn't suck ass.

Of course they also have turbo, which is more than a little helpful on, say, 1 vs. 100...

I just found out last weekend that my Wand doesn't work with the Motion Plus. I could have sworn it used to, but perhaps a system update locked it out. I'm not going to rebuy this new one, only to find that it won't work after I get a new Nintendo game that forces a system update. I've already been burned by Nyko before, since the Wand doesn't fit into their original Perfect Shot.

There are always people new to gaming who havent had the experience of wasting money on a third party controller yet, mostly kids becoming old enough to get expensive toys like consoles.

3rd party controllers will always be around because there will always be kids asking their parents for the controller with all the extra features since they dont understand the concept of quality yet. I think around middle school age is when kids realize that 3rd party controllers are made like shit and shouldnt be bought.

What happens when a game doesn't need MotionPlus? I hope there's an on-off switch, because I've had a game or two pause and refuse to continue until I've unplugged some peripheral. (Or are they peripheral-peripherals?)

I don't think there are any games that ask you to remove WMP? It's usually just the nunchuk, most games aren't aware that it exists.

Yea. Like what iofthestorm said, the Wii MotionPlus is invisible to games that don't support it. You can just hook a Nunckuck or classic controller through the Wii MotionPlus, and the games will still play fine.

The only games that benefit from taking the Wii MotionPlus off are games that require you to use the Wii Remote sideways a la NES style. The small peripheral creates an uncomfortable position for the 1 and 2 buttons, so Nyko's Wii Wand completely trumps the original Wiimote in that regard.

Good thing I only have two Wii remotes. My next two will probably be these Wand+s unless Nintendo decides to 100% incorporate Wii MotionPlus into the official Wiimote.

Maybe it's time for Nintendo to release new wiimotes with motionplus already built in. Not that it would matter for me, I already have 2 and no motionplus.

I have a Nyko Wand and I can say that it's been just as reliable as the Wiimote.

The classic controller as well as the nunchuck work fine with it. I have not tried the Motion+ attachment yet but I have read that it works fine.

The buttons and the D pad feel a bit more mushy than the Wiimote. The B button is grooved and has a nice rubber grip to it.

The only complaint, if you could call it that is that the battery life feels like it is a little less, but I haven't actually tested it.

I cant speak to other things, like their Wing controller but the Wand, I like.

Cool new Wii-mote! I'm skeptical on the intercooler thing. Aren't those notorious for bricking consoles this generation? And why would the PS3 slim need an intercooler? It already runs super quiet!

Dirty you bastard! You made me think about Seven for the first time in what was probably approaching a decade. What were once fond memories of hot teen Christina Applegate and the plight of a reluctant shoe-salesman have been tainted forever. I hope you're satisfied!

Well, there's always Modern Family I suppose. (Sometimes, when no-ones looking, I like to turn out all the lights and pretend that's Ed O'Neil's character is a re-married Al Bundy)
