Nothing special.
Hopefully Harmonix will continue to release some more Beatles DLC.
Hopefully Media Molecule wont take a year to release another level pack.

What? Nolan did voice work for this game too? I swear every game now that wants to capture an "average guy" feel will use Nolan now.

Dude I have been waiting for a new post about MAG, just so I could send my love out to the developers.

I dont just like the game I love it.. Its so freaking addictive it works so well.. I have had decent conversations with people in the game, around team play and strategy.. A lot of people make it so clear how important team work is.. Medics running around reviving like mad. The game is just AWESOME, it works so well.

The thing is I was on the earlier beta and that sucked so hard, it just didnt work well, it didnt make sense the controls felt odd, it was not very good.. But this latest build the controls are on point the game play is on point. I went on there expecting to get proper frustrated with the controls again and 5 hours later and a few good kill sprees later I was loving it..

I am in fact going on there right now to play a game ...

I will definately be buying it, I think there will be a lot of people that will be buying, it practically everyone playing it that I have heard on the mic seem to love it.

Another criticism of the game was that so few PS3 players have mics that the teamwork will suffer. But as long as everyone manage to stick the objective the game isn't really as dependent on the mics.

Just got to lvl 15 today and been playing domination. Other stats: Raven, direct action, light armor (runner) and heavy weapons. What are your stats McDuck? :)

I played it for around 45 minutes to an hour, and my first impressions are that it's definitely fun. I don't usually get into games where you HAVE to work as a team to win, which is why I was such a huge Counterstrike fan - retty much aside from clan matches, there was always a chance that, if you were 1337 enough, you could take down the whole team and win the match. I think I'm just impatient. So I can't speak for the teamplay aspect of it. But, first impressions were better than I had expected.

Just wait till you get to Level 10 and get to join the 256 player matches. That's when the fun begins. :)

But as I understand it the Beta is only up till the 10th so you better be quick about it.

If you see a member of sver running at you with a skull painted hockey mask thats probably me :)

I'm not sure, I'm on level 20 (rapid assault) now and it said before hand its the next big upgrade, which I would have assumed to mean another map being opened up, which hasn't happened, maybe after level 20 ? Not sure I will know in half an hour :) .. I just upgraded the hypo spray to give me faster heals and that was 3 points, the next level for the hypo spray is 5 points I dont see that happening within the beta time period..

the domination matches are just psychotic, I think your guns are better..

I knew Dark Void was going to be mediocre. After reading that it got a 6.5 or something close in OXM and playing the demo earlier today, it just confirmed my instincts.

honestly, I can't believe the hype train for this game. To me, I was pumped for it waayyy back before the hype train stopped at Capcom's gate to pick up Dark Void. Then, all I played was third person action games and FPS's with regenerative health, so another 3rd person action game sounded like a stale idea to me. But all of a sudden, everyone was up in arms over Dark Void. I bought and liked Bionic Commando, and I think, even though it's not perfect, it's underrated. This never looked any better or worse to me than Bionic Commando... so I never understood why everyone was like "Bionic Commando is such trash," then turn around and cum blood during previews for this game.

I'm still interested and am waiting for the demo tho.

i knew it was going to suck too, and was surprised you were actually getting lambasted for saying it. theres nothing apart from flying in a jet pack and maybe vertical shooting that makes this game look good.

Uncharted will still have a special place in my heart for Nolan North. Honestly- man crush.

Nah... but he's a good voice actor and Uncharted 2 had great characters because of the great voicework (partly- good writers as well). Obviously a lot of companies want his talent- I just hope he doesn't voice EVERY game o.- That would be ridiculous.

Even at $5 I wouldn't recommend purchasing this game. I've played both offline and online with 2 friends and there isn't much fun past the nostalgia. The graphics were easy on the eyes and the gameplay was manageable but there wasn't much fun. We beat it on the first run through, normal difficulty, in 1hr 30min and we aren't hardcore gamers. The only difficult stage is the final boss which will beat the crap out of all 3 people so we beat him with a sequence of timed jump-kick-run.
If you have $5 to burn, put it towards the new Pixeljunk Shooter, its a fun puzzle that starts easy but gets quite difficult. Only problem, no online multiplayer.
Good luck!

I'm kind of kicking myself for buying Turtles in Time full price. The demo won me over with nostalgia, but I certainly didn't get $10 worth of fun from the full game. Might finally get PoP Classic at $5.

I completely agree - Turtles in Time was awesome, but I really felt ripped off after finishing one play through and blowing $10 on it. At $4.99 I would recommend it to anyone who played and liked the original.

Also - very disappointed in no PS1 titles. What gives?

Those Motherfucker's.

We finally get premium Avatars but they're all LBP related.

Then next week we get nothing.

WTH

Why haven't we seen some for Uncharted. Resistance, MGS, anything really.

You would have thought the first batch of premium avatars would have been a huge deal with numerous pics from different games to choose from and new one's being added every week.

Totally love the fact that they finally (re)released the Disgaea 2 DLC! And Plenair being free too, like it was originally in Japan!

I did notice a couple things though. While nothing is glitchy of the three DLC I got (Sapphire, Plenair, and Almaz), there is absolutely no voice work for any of them. A bit sad, but they work. :(

Also noticed that Zetta, a character you can unlock in the game that's great for Magichanging Grinding, had his first iteration of Zetta Beam altered. I used to be able to hit all monsters in Cave of Ordeals 4 (a 2x8 row of them), but now it's smaller, so one monster in a corner gets away scot free.

The longer secondary Zetta Beam works as it did, though. Maybe they balanced some skills as a patch?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't like the Dark Void demo. The graphics seemed subpar and the controls felt . . . . . 'blah'. I also tried the Matt Hazard demo and I really hated that game. I'm gonna have to check out the free DLC for Disgaea 2.

On an aside, does anyone have any impressions about Darksiders? The game looks interesting, but if it's not really a must-have, then I'll hold off until after the Great RPG rush of 2010.

Check the Giant Bomb Quick Look, they have the first 38 mins or so of the game. I'm not too excited for it, looks like a watered down GoW really in terms of combat with too many 'challenge rooms' that just bespeak lazy game design.

I actually really am digging Dark Void, the demo is pretty short, but the flight feels pretty solid and I like the gunplay. Was pretty pleasantly surprised for the western dev.

I really like how it segues from flight to ground fighting really seamlessly too. Not the best looking game in terms of animations and textures (up close) but I think the environments look really nice.

Of the stuff coming out at the beginning of the year, it is probably the most appealing. Plus it has Nolan North, how can you not like that.

man, Matt Hazard Blood Bath is really a lot worse than I thought. I did like some of the references in the Team Fortress level, and the fact that you could go down the pipe like in Mario... but the demo is certainly a let down unfortunately. I loves me a good scrolling shooter, so. yup. Still gotta try the Dark Void demo, but all you nubs are hoggin the server bandwidth!! -_-

I have to agree with most of the previous posters so far...the Dark Void demo isn't that great. After being spoiled with Uncharted 2, the shooting/cover gameplay mechanics of DV just aren't up to par. The flying scenario also leaves alot to be desired. I'll wait for the complete reviews from critics to see if I'm missing something.

Eh. I started playing the Dark Void demo, and died from the turret a couple times and turned it off. Nolan North seemed like a really bad fit for a character in that situation, and the flying gameplay was decent but not really that fun. I love third person cover games but I'll stick with Gears and Uncharted 2 for now.

I really really want to Like Dark Void... I downloaded the demo last night and went thru it twice... I am torn... It seems like any other generic 3rd person game - the flight mechanics are decent but I dont know if the gimmick is enough... After playing Uncharted 2 so much - hearing Nolan as the voice of Will was a little jarring... I read he was the voice but the fact that Will is a wise cracking "everyguy" just made this seemed like Uncharted 2 against robots instead of lmercs plus jet pack minus insane Uncharted 2 graphics...

Meh, this list isn't as great as I hoped it would be. I did buy the Matt Hazard game from PSN though after trying out the demo; it was halfway decent IMO. Guess I'll be going back to Call of Duty Classic though! :P But I'm not complaining, as I did get both these games for free, lol. 30 dollars saved towards buying me Uncharted 2!!

P.S.: If anyone's interested, I got the free PSN cards from here: http://alturl.com/3a25

dark void is good. either im crazy, or everyone else is... cause the game is good. I'm playing the full copy (early i know), and it actually is urging me forward which, regardless of any nitpicking, is the sign of a good game. I'm a few hours into it, and must say there is something oddly inviting about it. gamers will continue to leave the same comments, and flame things they will never buy or play. but trust me the game is good. i think the next airtight game will be even better.
