Rumor: Call of Duty 7 coming in November

According to a "senior UK trade source" who allegedly spoke with CVG, the next Call of Duty game from Treyarch will be set in Vietnam and arrive at retailers this November. "It's going to be November again - just as with World At War and Modern Warfare 2," the source was quoted as saying.

We heard as much back in May of last year, when Treyarch was said to be looking for "Vietnam War era tunes." Add to that the fact that Activision's Noah Heller explicitly said Treyarch would no longer be working on WWII-based Call of Duty games and you've got yourself a more reasonable sounding rumor. We've asked Activision for comment and will keep you updated as we hear more.

No, CoD started in 2003. If it wasn't for Guitar Hero, Call of Duty would be the most whored out franchise in history, time wise.

Good points both of you. I'm not saying that I consider a Vietnam War game racist. What I am saying is that some idiot in the media is going to claim that a Vietnam War game is racist and should not be made/sold/bought/played by anyone of any age. Maybe I'm wrong and they'll just repeat the same MW2 anti-violence song AGAIN, but the media might see this game as another angle to go after video games. They're violent AND racist!

MawHinny was the guy that killed 16 Vietnamese at night, with a starlight scope, at less than 50 yards from the same spot ... 16 shots and 16 kills. I don't think I need to mention the accomplishments of Hathcock as he is perhaps the most decorated sniper in military history. The Vietnamese put a $30,000 bounty on his head he killed so many of their men! I think he was also the guy who shot another sniper and the bullet went through his scope and out the back of his head!

Put 'em in the damn game Treyarch and you have a winner. If not the men themselves their exact scenarios and subtle hints about them.

What? Why? What game has ever done something like that? Did WaW have us play as Audie Murphy? Did the flying mission place us in the role or situation of James Doolite? No way. Maybe these guys were heroes but why do they have to be in a game? And why would that make the game an immediate success? Do you think half the American population has ever heard of them?

Would be cool if they didn't do the obvious and went 100 years into the future instead. Grand Theft Auto needs to do this as well.

We already have a mediocre FPS set in the jungle. It's called "Crysis".

I don't know if I'd call Crysis an FPS. "Benchmark" seems more appropriate, since its only purpose seems to be to show off how many frames-per-second your rig can do. Wait. "frames-per-second"... "FPS"... well played, DubiousCow, well played.

Well, let me just pull a Pachter and predict the obvious: There will be a new Call of Duty in November. To be specific: Nov 9.

I would prefer they made a CoD less often, that way it would be refreshing and I would actually see a difference comparing from the past games.

Activision needs to knock off the crap. Instead of putting out multiple games why don't they just support the best selling game of all time? Everybody and their sister owns it, work on some DLC that is worth a sh*t, none of this three map crap. I'd hate to say it but Modern Zombies wouldn't be a terrible idea. New spec ops missions and so on. Acticision should learn from their market over saturation or they are going to kill Call of Duty like they did Tony Hawk, Wolfenstien, Guitar Hero, and so on. Possibly reinvent they way they host games because we all know it could be better.

Why would that even be a rumor? They've never released a COD game in November!

Call of Duty is pretty much an over-saturated franchise, just like Guitar Hero and Madden at this point. Please, let us enjoy a game for a little bit more than a year, please!

I'll give it a play but for me WaW does not compare to the Infinity Ward games. I like those much better.

Ive been playing Cod since it first came out on pc so to me its always been about the Online Multiplayer and to me the Treyarch games suck horribly in that field.

Infinity Ward should be the only one allowed to make Cod games lol

I seem to recall mentioning this about a year and a half ago. Then info I had was off in two areas: IW developing it rather than Treyarch, and the release date, as the game was supposed to come out before WaW... so, to all the assholes that voted me down and gave me shit back then: you're cocksuckers. The rest of you: we're cool.

I better watch playoing the Nam game in front of my pops he might have flashbacks...but in all seriousness i heard after this they may explore the 76-90 period of the cold war at large including a nuclear warfront, i also saw something that said they wanna redo the History Channel Civil War Game with a full out campaign for both Union and Confederacy, with the chance you can change the outcome and the Confederacy wins......

They need to keep the same sorta games as cod 6 but update them some more!! I loved the old game and this new game be freakin awesome!!
