Halo: Reach isn't the only story that you'll find in next month's Game Informer -- the magazine's blog has also revealed that the developer known for the past two years as 2K Boston will be returning to its roots as Irrational Games. The change isn't unexpected, as we've seen hints of the old identity coming back to the spotlight for a while. But apparently the company is going full force with the "renewed commitment" to the legacy: it'll be kicking off a new website soon (in about three days and 16 hours as of this writing, according to the countdown now running on IrrationalGames.com) that will contain lots of community features and information about Irrational's past -- including fan favorites like System Shock 2 and Freedom Force, in addition to 2K Boston's BioShock and future titles.
Meanwhile, the company has a new logo -- spiffy! -- and the next Game Informer will have more information about the studios' history and why it made the choice to turn back the clock on its identity. We look forward to reading all about it.

Well, that's nice to see. I kinda liked the older logo, though.

I'm replaying System Shock 2 right now actually. I liked that game so much more than BioShock. Am I the only one that would rather have System Shock 3 than BioShock 2? Probably a dumb question here.

I played Bioshock expecting SHODAN to show up at any moment, it felt so similar. The only thing Bioshock had on SS2 was Rapture, which was an extraordinary environment.
I wish someone would make like a Source mod remake of SS2 or something.

Eh I enjoyed Bioshock, it had a good start and the atmosphere was awesome but it started to get pretty easy pretty fast. Would have been cool to find a giant steam powered shodanesq AI running parts of the city but that would have been asking too much.
I can say I would really prefer a new Systemshock to Bioshock 2

That is my one wish to see a Freedom Force 2. I had so much fun with ii. I mean just the style, and game play it was amazing. It was as if it was a vortex back to the golden age/silver age of comics.

Right im now forcing myself to play System Shock 2. Ive owned it for years but ive never actually played it....please dont hit me. I know its supposed to be great but when i got it i started getting into console gaming and it found its way to the back of my closet where it still lies today...in its original wrapping too.:(

I agree. But SS2 STILL somehow retains some of its creepiness after all these years. I think a big reason I liked SS2 better was the rpg elements were heavier. An inventory system, stat building, skill tree... You couldn't just hack anything, you had to decide you wanted to spend precious points to level your hack skill! So Bioshock felt like System Shock Lite. And you know they'd do the graphics and atmosphere up big in a new System Shock game.
Oh man. I can't wait to get home and play it again ^_^

I'd even prefer a System Shock 2 remake to Bioshock 2!
I'd trade all the future games Levine and the gang are ever going to make just for a freaking Source Mod of SS2!!!
God Dammit someone bring this greatest game of all time to modern computers
