Them be fightin words, partner.

Really I am sure BFBC2 will be a great game, just as MW2 is great. Two games you can really enjoy. Now about those servers....

"certainly working on how [it] can get that crown back."

Honestly when the hell are they going to add dedicated servers for the console versions of games? IMO the multi-player of BC2 is better than MW2 so you might as well throw dedicated servers in and advertise "no-lag/more players" then MW2. Add in some good "FREE" DLC down the line and they'll have the multi-player-crown back easily...

Then show an advertisement about what your game does that the other doesn't.

Vehicles
More Players
More Weapons
Destructive Environments

The only thing MW2 will be able to beat BC2 is Single-Player but, who honestly plays the BF series for the Single-Player campaign?

Really? Strangely I still have not been able to find a copy of BC2 at the stores. How did you ever get one!?

I found a copy of the BETA in my PS3, and will have another one for my pc once it's out.

And yeah MP in the BF series in general is better than the grenade-fest MW is in general (both 1 and 2).

I played MW2, and I played the BC2 beta on PS3... Bad Company 2 blows MW2 in almost every possible way in my opinion. As if the vehicles, fully destructible environments, and incredible sound design wasn't enough.. its got dedicated servers too.

The irony of that photo to me, is you can't fly a chopper in MW2 so it can't be on your six :-)

Good on them, Call of Duty is a good, solid series but due to a lack of solid and well marketed competition it's become stagnant. MW2 was a bit of a dissapointment.

How was MW2 a disappointment? The single-player isn't nearly as amazing as true life based events like WWII but the spec-ops is great fun and the multipalayer is the same great addicting fun all COD's have presented.

The multiplayer was basically CoD4 but with new maps, and worse spawns. I didn't really buy the game for online though, I prefer single player and so for me, it was a dissapointment, as the story was 5 hours and completely inane.

And please lets leave it at that, everyone's entitled to their opinion, and i accept that it pleased a lot of people, I don't really want to start a flame war over MW2 again >:/

I bought MW2 on sale for $40 with the knowledge that the campaign was garbage and the multiplayer was basically the same as COD4. But I was pleasantly surprised, because while the multiplayer is essentially the same, I like the maps a lot more than any of the ones on COD4. COD4 was constantly "Oh crap, not THIS map" but I've yet to utter that phrase in MW2. Overall it's a good game but it's easy to be disappointed in it after COD4 was so groundbreaking within the series and MW2 remains for the most part the same. I think it's a lot of what happened with RE5. RE4 was a fresh reboot that saved the series, and RE5 was good but nowhere near as revolutionary as it's predecessor.

I would really like Halo 4:

Master Chief lands on an alien home planet
and proceeds to whoop ass and take names
the way only he can.

And Halo 3 did. The End.

No? I've never read a single Halo novel, watched any of the Halo anime shorts, or poured over fan interpretations for Halo, but I still feel Halo has one of the best stories. Maybe I'm a dork, but I got a bit misty-eyed at the end of 3, not going to lie... And the Arbiter's story in Halo 2 was a highlight of the series to me, not the bane everyone makes it out to be.

Tangible, somewhat generic, Sci-Fi action at its best, with enough humanity and emotion to keep the characters compelling throughout.

Someone compared Halo series to me at one time like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter. You can watch the movie and you'll get a good experience but if you read the books the story is night and day difference.

I thought the Arbiter's story in Halo 2 was pretty darn cool too. I thought it was refreshing to see that kind of event and the effects it had on those involved - rather than just marine 'A' shoots everything for 'X' amount of sequels.

I hated the arbiter more in 3 than 2, especially since he killed truth at the end for shaming his race's honor and blah blah and then he's gotta let out a roar. QQ bitch he only tried to wipe your race out, he pretty much succeeded, Chief had a much better reason to kill that asshole

Instead of people worrying about trying to best other games, why don't they just focus on making the best game possible by their own standards.

That said, I think this game looks amazing, and where MW2 didn't get any interest from me at all (I haven't even touched it), this game looks like a good fun time online with friends.

Whatever people like is just subjective anyways, in my book MW2 isn't anywhere near the greatest FPS.

I like my book.

Just because I haven't touched it doesn't mean I haven't watched people play it and all that. From the features I've seen, the gameplay and friends playing it, it isn't the best FPS in my opinion. I feel that if it was, it would've captured some interest from me. I always found perks annoying, basically some asshole with a whole lot of time to burn will have the upper hand.

These are just my opinions.

mystile armor, i will fill you in. You didnt miss anything. Missions are only fun on veteran and at that difficulty the enemy can see twice as far as you, in the snow, simply a wtf on the developer's part. Multiplayer is ok but the maps remind me of reskined COD4 maps (dusk turned to day, night turned to dusk), just like Halo 3 maps... but halo 3 has some of the best maps in the genre.

just not my cup of tea personally. On the other hand, the weapons rock so there is that.

The only thing that "could" help BC2 is if it has a solid single player story. That's really the only thing MW2 is lacking. Otherwise it will be a major up-hill battle since MW2 has the best multiplayer since pre-source Counter Strike.

Damn .. now i'm itching to play some MW2.. c'mon 5:30!!!!

I agree with the first replier... The MP in MW2 is fun, but it's certainly not the greatest. Take away the constant lag, glitches, etc... and it would've been much better. I honestly had more fun playing the BC2 beta than I ever did MW2, and that was just one map/mode. That's saying a lot, and of course it's just my opinion.

Are you suggesting CS 1.6 was better than CS:S?

And you can't compare BC2 directly to games like MW2 or CS because it's centered around both teamwork and vehicles where both of the others are more about lone wolfing it and twitch skill.

Hopefully Bad Company 2 won't be a mediocre FPS like Call of Duty is. Don't get me wrong, Call of Duty 2 is still a great game but since then, the franchise has kind of been going downhill.

The one big thing I am worried about, and this is from the gameplay down a few posts from this one, is how slowly character movement was. CoDs speed can be aggravating sometimes, but it is a good solid pace. On foot movement appears to be walking only in BC2.

I think the campaign will provide some real competition for MW2 but unless they can top CoD's pervasive carrot-on-a-stick multiplayer rewards system, you'll see those used copies pile up pretty fast at your local Gamestop.

Oh, and they'd better come with some pretty damned interesting co-op modes to beat Spec Ops. I guess time will tell.

they had an, i think conceptually at least a better progression system than MW. Everytime you leveled up, you'd get a credit point, and with that you could choose what you wanted, instead of having to slog through lots of levels to get that one gun or equipment you want. It wasn't nearly as deep as MW2, but i sure expect it to get better in this one

Especially, with EA coming out and stating this "attack on COD", I can almost assure you that Activision/IW will counter with a "strategically" planned DLC launch right around March 2.

We already know that DLC is coming "Spring" and we also know from history that COD4's map pack released in April and WaW's 1st DLC pack was March.

I agree. The entire Battlefield franchise, including Battlefield: Bad Company, has always been a different type of gameplay experience than Call of Duty. And we like it that way! Battlefield has always been more vehicle/team/objective-based, while CoD has always been more of a traditional twitch/run-around/shoot-em-up game (much like CounterStrike). They are really two totally different types of games, and that's fine.

I don't see any reason why Battlefield needs to become more like CoD, and I am concerned by some of the statements DICE and EA have made in regard to them wanting to make it more like CoD. Leave Battlefield alone and let it be what it is! People who like Battlefield like it *because* it isn't just like every other military shooter on the market!

I think Battlefield Bad Company is still the most complete shooter experience and has the potential to unseat Call of Duty if they play their cards correctly. When you factor in all that Battlefield offers with the vehicle combat, the soldier classes, the size of the maps and the style of play the core game modes promote it's just more of a true battle field experience. You feel more like the part of an ongoing battle and less of just a guy running around a map fragging wildly. I think Modern Warfare 2 made some missteps with how they assembled the perk systems and you see people exploiting these game balancing failures already with the dual shotgun/knife classes. Some of these additions although they make Modern Warfare 2 fun, fast and action packed, for a person that prefers a little more realism in the mix, it's going farther away from that model. If Battlefield Bad Company 2 wants to win this fight they have to make sure that first, the mics work on all platforms. There is nothing worse than no communication in a tactical shooter, and this was a problem on both Bad Company and BF:1943 on PS3. Secondly they have to offer more variety of game modes, an area in which Battlefield really lacks. They also have to be sure to not try and copy Modern Warfare 2.....leave that task for the Medal Of Honor reboot. If Battlefield loses it's identity and starts to mimic Modern Warfare too closely in any way, it will really disenfranchise the Battlefield fanbase.
