The PS3 community got a chance to get its hands on the multiplayer beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in November -- today, we learned that the PC community will get its chance to try out the shooter in a few short weeks. According to a recent post on the Battlefield blog, the beta for the PC version of the game will kick off January 28, and will be available until February 25. To get on board, just reserve the game at participating retailers and ... "e-Tailers."
For more details about downloading the beta, and to find out about the map participants will be riddling with bullets, check out the Battlefield blog post.

Oh yea way better than MW2, I played both games quite a bit, the PS3 beta for BC2 was much more unique and fun.
It's funny they are still calling the PC version a "beta" though because during that time frame there has gotta be a BC2 demo out for all platforms if its release date is March 2 and they promised a demo before hand.

I wish this were available even if you wouldn't pre-order it. I'm not too into pre-ordering games I can just buy on launch day. No need to "secure my game" from Gamestop or somewhere for an extra $5. Seems kind of pointless.
Guess I won't be able to try it out without committing to it. :(

@DubiousCow
It's not $5 extra... it's $5 min when you place the order, and that is applied to the cost of the game.. you can pay anywhere from $5-(total game cost) when you preorder, and pay it off in increments before it comes out... I often just preorder with $30 bux then pay it off the day before it comes out... that way, i can just walk in and snag it on the way home in like 10 seconds in the store...

You can return pre-orders at most locations for a full refund any time before or after the game launches. You are really buying 1/12 of the new game, so if you return it before you've bought/opened a new game, you're fine.

The 360 is probably close enough to the pc to not need its own beta.
It's not a demo, the point is to catch bugs and tweak balance.

It also says in the article that they are TRYING to make a PUBLIC beta available on Steam, sans preorder.

Most people aren't actually bashing MW2, they are bashing Activision for screwing around with the game, mods, and dedicated servers for the PC version, some people don't prefer CoD which is fine just like you don't like BFBC2. But look at most bashing comments, has nothing to do with IW or MW2 itself, just the publisher. And you are just spewing shit all over the place on BFBC2 for what?

Getting this out of the way 1st, I'm a pc gamer thru and thru, and own a ps3 for games I feel are paced well enough to enjoy from my couch. This doesn't include games that involve me being on the edge of my seat making sure I don't get my head blown off and dodging grenades.
MW2 was a disappointment, too short for singleplayer, just felt like the longest tutorial ever, artificially generated controversy hype machine, no dedicated servers on pc, I heard wonderful things about the missles. Honestly the multiplayer pundits are part of the WoW crowd as far as I can tell "ZOMG I GOT AN XP BAR!" and bam, that hamster in your head starts making a mad dash for it.
I'll take the progression system based on tactical squad based gameplay over the twitch xp grind that MW2 seems to embrace.
Destructable environments are fun too :)

I can't return the PC version if I don't like it. And PC is the only platform that I play on.
