I thought ODST was pretty good. Hopefully this will be better and have a different multiplayer.

I hope it's wide open like Far Cry where you get NAVs for objectives but your team goes about it whatever way they want...

Are you kidding? Far Cry 2 was terrible for the very fact that it was too open. Driving around all across the map gets old after awhile, especially when you have to repair your car every five minutes and you get chased by invincible enemies.

Yea i was never able to get into far cry just because of that fact. it was a great game, just very long open and dragged out.

and no one throw in a "like your mother"

Halo Reach will not involve Natal. And according to THIS GUY (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/105/1059470p1.html), Natal is suppose to extend the life of the 360.

'According to Aaron Greenberg, Director of Product Management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live, Natal substitutes the need for an Xbox 360 sequel. When asked directly if Natal is replacing a new console, Greenberg smiled and offered, "We don't think we're halfway through this generation." Pressed further about if Natal means Microsoft will not release a new console anytime soon, Greenberg said, "I would say so, absolutely. It will extend the life of this console." '

also: "We will very carefully manage the portfolio. We want to focus on original concepts. Not every idea is going to make sense. Halo Reach should be a great game with a controller. It should never be played with your body."

So NO, I think its safe to say Natal will NOT be involved in Reach.

In my mind, Halo is probably one of the best gaming franchises i've played and Halo 3 for me blew everything out of the water and had some pretty innovative stuff such as Forge and Theater, name me one other game that has done both of those things since Halo 3 was released two years ago.

Halo:ODST was a great move by Bungie to freshen up the Halo gameplay, but at the end of the day I couldn't help but feel like a crippled Master Cheif and I still enjoyed it, but it was EXTREMELY short.

Reach will hopefully do what Halo 3 did, bring stuff to the table that no other console shooter has done and freshen up the gameplay instead of doing pretty much the same thing over and over again *cough* Modern Warfare 2.

Halo fans: You will also buy this for 60 dollars on day one without ever thinking twice. You did it with halo wars, you did it with ODST and you will do it again for our next halo game. We know you too well.

I can't tell if you're being an ass or not. Generally, if someone is a big fan of any given franchise they're eager to pick up the next addition to that universe, right? Like if there were a game called "The Riddler's Silly Gotham Kart 500" I'm sure The Dark Wayne would pick it up, right?

Do halo fans not like being reminded that they are fans of halo? I didn't mention anything about if they were good or bad or whatever, just that they'll keep making halo games and you'll keep buying them day one.

That same "truth" as you so put it would also apply to Mario, Metroid, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet & Clank, Madden, Modern Warfare, and any other title in a series of games.

Just because it's Halo doesn't make it any different from any other games out there. They are all great in their own way. Trying to say otherwise usually just makes you look like an ass.

Good example with R&C, I'd totally be up for other types of games in that franchise as I'm sure the powers that be behind that franchise would ensure that it was done well, with some TLC.

I'm on both sides. I loved Halo 3, but ODST...yeah, not worth the 60 bucks. Kind of disappointing compared to the epic scale of Halo 3. But of course, if it has "Halo" on the case, it automatically sells like monkey stinkage.

Wow i did not even use the word truth, or implied that i was unquestionably correct. I was echoing the idea that uhhhhh the joystiq article used? You will buy the magazine. Thats what they said. I didn't even go, you will buy the mountain dew, the burger king combo, the board game, and whatever else crap they put halo on. If what i originally wrote is getting me labled as some huge asshole, you halo fans are just too sensitive! Considering what i said IS true.

I was referring to this "downvoted for the truth".

Secondly, you implied that anyone would buy anything Halo related whether it was good or bad. That's like calling all the fans idiots who would buy a Halo themed piece of dog crap just because it says Halo. You're assuming that people can't make up their own mind and all follow some collective hive mind that says "buy Halo games". Either that or they are all zombies who instead of searching for brains to eat, they mindlessly search for Halo games to buy.

You could have just called the series popular and said that a lot of people like it. Instead you implied a lot of negative things. At least that's my take on it all.

Way way WAY over analyzed. The idea you are saying I implied...takes longer to type or interpret then what you are basing it off of! Let me clear it up, I echoed what the article was implying. YOU WILL BUY HALO. Because the fans have proven 3 times now that they will buy any halo game of any kind regardless of quality, for xbox 360 in excess of 2 million copies on the first day. Now where i use my opinion skills is when i say "They will do it again for our next game" because they WILL and to say otherwise is silly. Just throw all that crap about dog shit and zombies out the window, because you made that all up.

This might be my bias for the series but Halo has always delivered an exceptional gaming experience for me. I think that it is VERY rare for a game to hold my interest for more than a month or two, tops. I would be interested to know what game(s) out there you still play on a regular basis (4-6 times per week) months and/or years after its initial release. My $60 is an investment. I'm not in the business of purchasing 3-4 games a month only to trade them in a month or two later after I get my kicks in. That's what GameFly is for.

Like it or not, Halo sells not because it's Halo. It sells because people can expect a great experience and Microsoft/Bungie deliver. Every single time.

@captainplanet:

hmm yes lets see. Well I stopped play halo 3 less than 2 months after it was released because its the SAME SH*T OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Clunky controls, subpar visuals, subpar story, REPETITIVE GAMEPLAY.

Games I bought a long time ago that I still regularly play:
Orange Box (Team Fortress 2, mainly)
Far cry 2
Unreal Tournament 3
GTA IV
plus a few other games that I play semi-regularly.

Games I bought a long time ago that I never play because they are crap:
halo 3.

I dont hate halo because i "think its cool"
I hate it because its garbage and is over rated. The fact that you claim people hate halo just to hate it and are merely following a bandwagon is pure BS, and you ALL know it.

So, to the SHEEPLE of joystiq:

PISS OFF.

James, i never said I had a problem with it. Whats with your "well exxxcuse mee" attitude? Personally I didn't agree with paying 60 dollars for a 5 hour game that sells you some multiplayer maps you already paid for, but everyones entitled to do so. If you take away with what i said as "god damnit he's an asshole who hates games, and might as well be talking shit about every single franchise i love!!" then take your meds, dude.
