Really looking forward to this and interested in seeing how it turns out. Curse my backlog though, I was just starting to make headway on it. Although I have to think I'll have burned through ME2 easily by the time this comes out. Woot! For-real.

I'm interested in this one, but I'm definitely going to wait and see... ah, I'll probably just buy it when it comes out. I don't even know why I buy the amount of games I do when I can't even find the time to finish them all. I think most gamers have a backlog to get through at the moment. I'm making some progress though. I finished Uncharted 2 last week, finished Modern Warfare 2 last night, in world 7 in New Mario Bros, just started the first level of the first God of War (which means I have that whole game and it's sequel to finish as well), Ass Cred 2 is still in plastic, and I'm about halfway through another Mass Effect run and will be buying ME2 day one, obviously.

I like to drown myself in a sea of games.

I just recently started R&C Tools of Destruction, and the 1st Uncharted has been left mostly untouched :( I'm not even gonna mention my 360/Wii/DS backlog.

It's like fondling a pair of really big tits and saying "damn there just too much to fondle" Just be grateful :)

I would have been happier with the original date of the 16th, but this works too since I already have enough money set aside for both this and Splinter Cell. Gives me another week to play through my likely 3rd or 4th playthrough of ME2 as well :P

Oh course he did. Hes suck Bioware's balls if they asked him to. I agree that Bioware are some of the best RPGs developers ever but they are far from THE best. This is coming from someone who completed KOTOR 4 times (Once as light, once as dark, once with dual sabers and once with a double saber).

I don't know if they're the best rpg developers out there. Probably a toss up between them and Bethesda.

It's definitely not Square-Enix, that's for sure. Maybe 12 years ago, but not now.

Wait, so pre-ordering gets you access to the privilege of buying the DLC at launch?

I'm predicting Heavy Rain doesn't have an ending.

I think one of the DLC is that mission that they first showed with the girl and the motorcycle and the house with the rain happening and the fat guy with the knife. That wasn't apart of the story and I remember them saying since people wanted to play it that they would make it a DLC, but I could be wrong.

Preordering gets you the first DLC episode for free. Similar to the DLC included with Dragon Age when you buy a new copy. I'm sure many other games will pick up on this in the future to push new sales as well.

Although I didn't get to finish Indigo Prophecy, I did like it a lot. Actually the controls left a lot to be desired.

Anyone remember those Goosebumps choose your own adventure books? That's what this reminds me of.

I wish I had the privilege of not finishing Indigo Prophecy. Game was fun until the 3/4 mark then it just took a nosedive into awful territory.

Never finish Indigo Prophecy. Ever. Preserve the memory that you have of it right now, and just imagine that the game ended where you left it. Trust me, it's for the better. The turn that the story takes is so unbelievably ridiculous.

The part where I stopped played was at the top of the roller coaster. I kept doing something wrong and couldn't figure it out and said eff this game.

Now that I remember though, I hate the part where you're a kid and you have to sneak around with your friend. I wanted to stab myself in the eyes with salt covered lemon knives.

I thought Indigo Prophecy was alright. I agree, the twist the story takes near the end kind of turned me off though.

And I always felt it was a tiny bit of a let-down after the big intro where the director tells you they were aiming at making an interactive movie with Indigo Prophecy, because it never really feels that way.

They probably have the same ambitions with Heavy Rain, and even if the game itself is fun, I doubt they'll get much closer to realizing this dream.

@Marty

I loved everything about Indigo Prophecy except for the twist ending. Heavy Rain is supposed to have a very realist story, so in my eyes it will probably be much closer to perfection than in others'.

I'll wait for some reviews before I go out and get a PS3. I have looked forward to this since it was also supposedly going to 360 as well...

Where did you read it was being released for the 360? Everything I've read for this all say PS3 exclusive. Even the wikipedia entry says it was planned for a PC release but that's no longer the case.

I'd think with Sony announcing the release date that would imply that PS3 would be the only platform it would be available for.

not only -every single response already given to you- but haven't you read any of the hundred interviews where the guy insist in how he one day dreamed a perfect world with him playing his perfect game in no more than PS3. Seriously, hes said that it cant be possible to do of Heavy Rain what he wanted to in any other platform like a lot of times.

i'll wait 6 months before it get it. it seems to me that this game is packed full of new programing tech, thats all anyone normally talks about it. games like that tend to disappoint. They come out with good review scores because everyone is amazed at what it brings to the table, easily forgiving the short comings due to the games new dynamic (could be a new way to render light. or a new way to play with physics. Maybe water effects that are incredibly real). either way about half the time the games are forgotten once the novelty wears off. if people are still calling it a great game in six months, chances are its actually a winner.

Final release date for the movie tie-in game "Chubby Rain," however, has yet to be determined. Can't wait for that one, too.
